Maybe you could put Brett favre lyrics to your great "instrumental" song thing :thumb:
i'd rather not. i'm not very good at writing lyrics that fit with a song, so it may never have any. i'm good at writing poetry, but the second i try to write lyrics to a song it ruins it.

Get angry and disillusioned with the world first, it seems a standard place to start as a songwriter.

Can't you just use your poetry as lyrics?
Hurricane, that's about Boxing.
Its about a black boxer who was falsely accused of murder mainly based on his race.

lunch998 12-22-2004 07:44 PM

Hurricane is a great song.

Badmoon 12-22-2004 07:53 PM

Doing a review. You'll all want samples of these guys.

Glitterati 12-22-2004 07:57 PM

Hurricane is specifically about the boxer Rubin Carter. There was also a movie called "Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington. For further reference: http://imdb.com/title/tt0174856/?fr=c2l0ZT1kZnxteD0yMHxzZz0xfGxtPTIwMHx0dD1vbnxwbj0wfHE9aHVycmljYW5lfGh0bWw9MXxubT1vbg__;fc=1;ft=76;fm=1

Also, right before I got banned, me and Creedence Clearwater were having a really good Bob Dylan trivia contest.

Who is it? Or is it a secret?

The Band - Rock of Ages is a really great album, and since everyone loves the Band, everyone should get it.

That's my all time favorite movie :thumb:.

They feature the song in the movie at a point. Just like play it a bit.

edit: all time favorite non comedy movie that is.

RockAndRoll 12-22-2004 08:13 PM

It's a great song. I know someone who knows someone who clan play the violin bit.

Yep it's true

IAMIRONMAN 12-22-2004 08:39 PM

YA know what Bonzo i seem to have seen the same thing but i think it is due to all the newer music having cheap riffs and solos that the classic rock like led zeppelin and metallica have come back due to their kick *** solos :thumb:

metallica is not Classic rock, idiot.

BludgeonySteve 12-22-2004 08:54 PM

Calm down, it's always time for Metallica!

The riff from Is There Anybody Out There by Pink Floyd sounds like Call Of Ktulu by Metallica. And Goodbye Blue Sky has a similar sounding riff to Fade To Black By Metallica. Those two Floyd songs were from the same album and the two Metallica sounds were from the same album.

You guys put two and two together ;)

lunch998 12-22-2004 08:59 PM

My parents found a list of CDs I wanted to get. I wasn't going to ask for them for Christmas, but it appears now that I am getting some of them.

BludgeonySteve 12-22-2004 08:59 PM

That's right. Don't ever forget it.

Where you snooping?

lunch998 12-22-2004 09:02 PM
Where you snooping?
No, but it was a list that I put away awhile ago, and then randomly found on my kitchen table. I put it together to make the assumption that someone bought some of them for me. I could be wrong though.

Glitterati 12-22-2004 09:07 PM

In about two hours on PBS, there's going to be highlights of the Crossroads Guitar Festival, hosted none other than Eric Clapton, who was mentioned on the first page of this thread. Should rockz0rz all our collective sockz0rz.

That looks awesome. I might watch. I do hate PBS though.

Woodstock 12-22-2004 09:34 PM

I saw the Crossroads Festival a few weeks ago, it was very good.

BludgeonySteve 12-22-2004 09:55 PM

He's an awesome bassist though. Awesome I say.

Broken Arrow 12-22-2004 10:01 PM

I first relised how good he was while listening to "Live at Leeds".
