Of Malice and the Magnum Heart is awesome. Controller is great too but I kind of find that the vocals on it start to grate on me after a while.

Controller is what im listening to atm, and it sounds really good so far, ill check out of malice and the magnum heart afterwards as well :)

Yeah, Of Malice and the Magnum Heart is definitely my favourite album by them.

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 11:53 AM
ok just listened to The Arusha Accord, these guys are very interesting, on first listen i quite like them :)
I agree that they're interesting, I just have trouble getting into it. They change things up too much and it's hard to get in to any single thing that they're doing.

That said, they're very similar to Protest The Hero, but weirder and with weaker writing in my opinion. Arusha just can't seem to come up with a cohesive product and their music ends up being confusing and disorienting. Protest The Hero switches it up a fair bit, but the final product still feels like a cohesive whole.

Of Malice... is more emotional and raw while Controller is more technical (although still melodic). Mirrors is a good medium between the two, and I love all three records. They all offer something different and show a natural progression.

The vocalist on Mirrors and Controller has more of a tech metal scream than the Of Malice... vocalist, and this definitely reflected in the music and lyrics.
You could look like much bigger fags then The Arusha Accord.

Animosity look like fags, well Leo certainly does, and they're one of the best deathcore bands out there.

he appears to be facing the waste

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 11:57 AM

It's a fun game when checking out bands to note how many of the members look like normal people rather than retarded faggots.

"If I saw these guys eating at the red lobster, would I make fun of them?"

The answer is almost always yes.

ive listened to the whole of Controller and i must admit, i really love this album already, im tempted to say these are one of favourite metalcore bands. Ive heard alot of great things about protest the hero, but never really got round to listening to them properly.

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 12:09 PM

Last two songs are from Kezia. They're a bit more conventional and accessible. The other tracks are from their new album, which took me a while to get used to. The tracks are really dense take a bit to grow on you. I remember saying to a buddy of mine that each song on the new album is almost like an album in and of itself.

Kezia is more fun while Fortress is more interesting. both are great, though.

Motiv3 04-13-2009 12:11 PM

k thx m8 ill check them out soon ;)

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 12:13 PM

You might also like The Human Abstract. They're like Protest the Hero mixed with early Avenged Sevenfold.

I'm not a huge fan, but my friend loves them.

Motiv3 04-13-2009 12:15 PM

k thx for the heads up :)

jrowa001 04-13-2009 12:25 PM

THA are terrible

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 12:27 PM

They do a few neat things, but are similar to Ashura in that they can't manage to get a good cohesive whole going for them.

jrowa001 04-13-2009 12:39 PM

The Arusha Accord are awesome though. i think theyre pretty cohesive

i'm partial to mirrors and controller personally because of the fuller guitar tones.

You're seriously probably the only person who hasn't realized that Animosity's wigger thing was a joke.

guitarded_chuck 04-13-2009 12:43 PM

Joke or no joke they still look like dooshbags

Doesn't matter if it's a joke or not Leo looks like a fag and it's still somewhat gimmicky.

encmetalhead 04-13-2009 01:04 PM

Does anyone like Coalesce here?

SlightlyEpic 04-13-2009 01:07 PM

More like who doesn't like Coalesce here

The Feeding 04-13-2009 01:32 PM

Emmure & WOP have the wigger thing down to a science...

hismajestythepope 04-13-2009 02:02 PM
Joke or no joke they still look like dooshbags
They're actually really normal nerdy metal kids. They don't dress like that at all when they play shows.

xMalcolmXx 04-13-2009 02:16 PM

yeah but emmure and wop mean it

had the opportunity to go to emmure + wop + terror + asp + abacabb tonight. politely said **** you you have the pooptiest taste in music to my ride.

Xplisit 04-13-2009 02:42 PM

really really bad lineup.

asp isnt enough reason to go to that

hismajestythepope 04-13-2009 02:42 PM

Hahaha, yeah, who would want to go to that?

encmetalhead 04-13-2009 03:13 PM

Well OX is pretty good

SlightlyEpic 04-13-2009 03:16 PM
Well OX is pretty good
You have it? Well then I guess I'm pretty jealous.

Xplisit 04-13-2009 03:26 PM

"pretty good" he says

encmetalhead 04-13-2009 03:26 PM

I saw poison the well last night. **** me they were excellent.

As for the whole looking like a scenester thing well I'd probably I admit I look the most scene on these boards but I enjoy very real scenester music.

hismajestythepope 04-13-2009 03:39 PM

Haha, you're the biggest gay Frankie.

And yeah, PTW is awesome.

BridgeToSolace 04-13-2009 03:43 PM
Hahaha, yeah, who would want to go to that?
I think breakdowns are fun live, even if I don't care for the band.

Am I the only one who couldn't get into Versions? I like everything else they've done, but I just couldn't get myself into it.

hismajestythepope 04-13-2009 03:44 PM

The 2006 Demo > Versions.

SlightlyEpic 04-13-2009 03:46 PM

I liked Versions. In fact I'm listening to it right now, and I'm really looking forward to the new album this year.

2muchket! 04-13-2009 03:48 PM

They played two new songs which sounded like a return to form after versions.

And your words cut me deep mappy. We're no longer bros.
