good or bad?
"Morris Brown" is growing on me big time. |
I want to hear it!
|
It's interesting, the rip quality is a little questionable but I guess it's the real thing. Kinda disjointed for an album that's supposed to be a soundtrack. There's some really quality/cool stuff here, though. Some filler and blah tracks too. Doesn't seem like Dre and Big Boi work to closely together, though. They barely ever appear on the same tracks. Wildest track is "A Bad Note" which is on some "Maggot Brain" meets Mogwai ****, but not really as good as either.
"Morris Brown" might be my favorite now, too. It's definitely a grower; Sleepy Brown (the dude who sings) has an album coming out in Sept I think, so all his guest spots on here have me pretty interested in that. Send me a msg on aim and I can give you a link, username: CrumbBob. |
Currently Diggin':
John Brown's Body- Among Them The Replacements- Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash 65 Days Of Static- The Fall Of Math Grateful Dead- Dead In Cornell Material Culture- Hope The Congos- Heart Of Darkness Minutemen- Double Nickels On The Dime American Football- American Football I also just started listening to Hail To The Thief again, and that shows no sign of stopping. |
1 Le Volume Courbe 38
2 Mission of Burma 32 3 Cat Power 22 4 Deerhoof 20 5 Tindersticks 19 5 Refused 19 7 PJ Harvey 15 8 Wire 14 9 Sonic Youth 12 10 My Bloody Valentine 11 But today I've dug sad-bastard music. Nick Cave's No More Shall We Part, Lampchop's Damaged (though that's more lo-key bastard, really), Tindersticks's Can Our Love... have gotten time today, and I think I'll put on I Am a Bird Now soon. |
Swervedriver - Mezcal Head
This is a great hard rock/shoegaze album. |
Swervedriver - Mezcal Head
This is a great hard rock/shoegaze album.
Yeah definitely. More people need to listen to it. |
Jean-Claude Vannier's L'Enfant Assassin Des Mouches. Pretty cool stuff on its own (instrumental funk, avant-garde pop, psychedelia), but I'd imagine there are some insanely good sample opportunities here, too. I'm trying to recall if I've heard anything here before.
Yeah definitely. More people need to listen to it.
Are Cursive good live? I'm considering seeing them but I'm trying to keep my money, so yeah what to do?
I'm diggin' Yo La Tengo - Painful Misfits - Earth AD/Die Die My Darling Cocteau Twins - Treasure YLT are so good, and The Misfits are an old fav. Cocteau Twins are nice, but I haven't decided whether I like the singer or not. But they're Scottish (I think), so I'll give them more time! |
