Yep, my thoughts really. It certainly takes a dump on Downloads face, and what's more it takes place after my exams (unlike Download).

NP:Frédéric Chopin - Polonaise Op 40 No 1 in A "Militaire"

Celtic Frost
Children of Bodom
Gamma Ray
Motorhead

Yeah, fuck Download. Wacken's where it's at.
I went to uni this morning, well, towards uni. But I ended up skipping all my classes and spending the time in a pub. =)
tch tch tch did you expect all of us to say how kewl this is?
Also I was browsing this years Wacken line up and it seems The Michael Schenker Group are playing amongst others. I remember having a track by these guys that I liked but that's all, still looks pretty good. Maybe I'll try and go.
This is an incredible line up. Lucky are those who will go (=the2stranger for example) :(

Shattered_Future 03-02-2006 12:37 PM

Now I'm MORE pissed off that my friend's band didn't win his competition. Supposedly, if they won, they would have gotten to play at Wacken.

Damn him.

kurrpt 03-02-2006 01:03 PM

wow, thats weird

Stoic 03-02-2006 01:12 PM

what's weird

kurrpt 03-02-2006 01:18 PM

And yes, I should investigate going there myself.

NP:Bach - Fugue In G Minor
Looks like a good line up, but I think I'd get sick of extreme metal after a few hours. Not to mention all the big fat sweaty metalheads.
True. I was talking about it at school today and realised I would probably live like a tramp for a few days :/

superpeer 03-02-2006 01:51 PM

Actually, I've been to metal festivals that took from noon to midnight, but that's really pushing it. Extreme metal isn't really background music.

GenuineImitation 03-02-2006 02:00 PM
So how is everyone?

I have that good day feeling for some reason. Not sure why, I have a load of dull coursework to do and I have to prepare for a debate at school tomorrow. The motion is 'Vivisection is inhumane and should be stopped'; me and a friend are debating against it. Should be ok really.

Also I was browsing this years Wacken line up and it seems The Michael Schenker Group are playing amongst others. I remember having a track by these guys that I liked but that's all, still looks pretty good. Maybe I'll try and go.

NP: Franz Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody No.13 in A minor
Would the Wacken tour be visiting the States? Please say yes.

superpeer 03-02-2006 02:10 PM

It's not a tour, it's a festival, in one place.

GenuineImitation 03-02-2006 02:15 PM
It's not a tour, it's a festival, in one place.
I never heard of it before so I thought it was similar to Ozzfest or Gigantour.

Josh 03-02-2006 02:15 PM

i'm very tempted to go to Wacken, as i'm not exactly gonna be doing anything else in August apart from working to get money for Uni, so i should be able to take a weekend off.
have to wait and see though.

That song kicks ass. Good album, too.

Bartender 03-02-2006 02:22 PM

Coachella has been decent in previous years too (no idea what this year's lineup is like), though obviously not if you're wanting a metal festival.

Shred Danson 03-02-2006 02:25 PM
We also get Gigantour whcih was pretty good last year.
Oh yeah, forgot about that one :p
Coachella has been decent in previous years too (no idea what this year's lineup is like), though obviously not if you're wanting a metal festival.
Oh yeah, defenitely. When I was living in the Coachella Valley I was always amazed by the hype and all the bands being brought down there. Last year it was a trip having Nine Inch Nails basically playing in my grandpa's backyard :p
Sounds of the underground looks decent
It was, I just would rather go to Wacken now. :upset:

I didn't even get out of bed until after 12. It's a miserable day out here.

Shattered_Future 03-02-2006 03:33 PM

I had 3 periods (I said this already), and came home. Waste of my time.

Does anybody know if Gigantour is gonna happen again? We had a ****load of fun there last time.

are you saying i AM jesus, or are you just observant enough to realize that people say i look like jesus

Shattered_Future 03-02-2006 03:44 PM

Well, if you're a stoner (I'm assuming somewhat :p), you're bound to look like Jesus no matter what.

TojesDolan 03-02-2006 04:00 PM

Either That or being Joshmay.

Im pretty sure Mustain wants to continue it.

My school let us out 20 minutes early which is pretty lame. We should have gotten out much earlier. The roads were horrible.

ATM 03-02-2006 06:22 PM

Speaking of festivals, I am going to Bonnaroo :-D

Thor 03-02-2006 06:48 PM

Anyone care to wish me a happy 5000th post? Because this is it! :)

Shattered_Future 03-02-2006 07:04 PM

YAAAAAAAAAAAYno.

Man, I hope Symphony X goes on tour again soon...
