Ha, easily.
|
So he could nail "Deliverance" no problem? Then kick into Windowpane?
|
Alot of people can "nail" Deliverance and Windowpane. Neither of those is really a challenge for a good drummer that can play hip-hop, jazz, rock and metal, which Abe can do. Plus he has even more groove than Lopez.
The only thing I don't think alot of people can touch Lopez in is the dynamics and that's what made him special. Plus playing in an unorthodox style for the genre. |
I thought Deliverance was a fairly dynamic song. But whatever, I don't know much about drumming, and from the Deftones I've heard, I don't recall any standout drumming. Please don't snap at me. :p
|
Lol, it's the more subtle things that Abe does in Deftones that makes him great. Plus if you've seen him solo, you'd know that he's damn good.
They could probably replace Lopez with my drummer... |
Or my drummer.
|
I really wanna know what happened to that MA SW and MP project.
(if you don't know the abbreviations, **** you) The obvious answer is that Opeth and DT are busy. But still, I'd like to hear something from that. |
It actually took me a second to get the second and third ones.
Yeah, I'd like to know too. I bet maybe once Opeth cools off from the touring, Mike and the boys will get things started. We may even see that before a new Opeth record. |
Highly doubtful, since PT is pretty busy themselves right now. Touring, then new album sessions, then more touring.
|
I have very high hopes for the project. Hopes that will probably never be met.
|
Oh alright, well we'll see then. I wonder what DT is up to as well.
|
Then again, what the hell do I know, there might be a break in there sometime. Just wishful thinking on my part.
|
Can you really complain?
New PT = awesome New Project = awesome as well Moonlapse vertigo is so badass. |

I think someone asked about it in the MA Gigantour chat, and he said it was still on. |
Yes indeed about Moonlapse Vertigo.
A name for a song that I don't really get why it's called that way but it's a cool name nonetheless. |
So, apparently Solefald are ****ing amazing.
Of course. :D:D On the drummer topic: Most of all, I want LOpez back, he just had an overal sound, that was just awesome and added so much. |
Can you really complain?
New PT = awesome New Project = awesome as well
Honestly I'd much rather just have a new Porcupine Tree album. I know the project will be good, but it will never escape the so-called supergroup that it is. |
Woooooooooh, my Opeth albums came today. I finally legally own Damnation and a second copy of Blackwater Park.
|
Why the second copy of BWP?
|
I had the original BWP but I wanted the limited edition with the amazing slipcase and bonus disc. Now I'm wondering what to do with the first version.

Too stop the spreading of yucky yucker yuck. |
Break it.
Too stop the spreading of yucky yucker yuck.
Bad, bad chirstmas spirit. |
Jared, go away you fag.
Anyway, yeah. Opeth. |
Yes...Opeth.
I only own the regular BWP. What's on this bonus disc? |
I didn't know of any bonus disc.
I second the question as to the contents of said disc. |
Yes...Opeth.
I only own the regular BWP. What's on this bonus disc?
Two songs that weren't on the original copy, and some music videos. The songs are "Patterns In The Ivy II" and "Still Day Beneath the Sun". They're both clean songs and they're pretty good. |
Actually, they're amazing. They're acoustic songs like Harvest but with the dark feel of Damnation.
Plus all of the artwork looks nice and fancy since it's limited edition. |
Oh, I've heard both those songs.
I didn't like Patterns in the Ivy II at all. What music videos? |
I think it's just Harvest, but I haven't checked it out yet.
|
Oh, I've heard both those songs.
I didn't like Patterns in the Ivy II at all. What music videos?
Are you serious? That song is wonderfull. Both bonus tracks > Harvest |
Who produced GR? Jens something?
And could someone send me the two bonus tracks? I had them but deleted them or something.. can't find them in any case. Thanks. bananaman__@hotmail.com |
That's a pretty safe bet.
|
Oh, I've heard both those songs.
Wow, first time in a while I have to disagree with you on somthing.
It was a good run. |
I love Still Day Beneath The Sun. It's such a chill track, and it's quite beautiful.
|
It's a very good song, but the two deleted tracks just don't amount up to Harvest. That song has some of the best vocal work from Akerfeldt methinks.
But as far as great clean Opeth songs go, To Bid You Farewell and Benighted cannot be beaten. |
Face of Meeeeeeelindaaaaaaaaaaa!
|
Face of Meeeeeeelindaaaaaaaaaaa!
I love that song, just the transition could have been easier on the ears. |
