Hello. Anyone here?
Just saw Napoleon Dynamite and loved it. Just FYI for the folks still here, if any. |
Good morning gentlemen. Haha yeah, Napolean was funny as hell. Most idiotic movie ever, no plot at all, but hilareous.
Hey man, did high school have a plot? Didn't think so. Thus N.D. is one of the better movies about high school I've seen. There are so many unbelievably accurate caricatures of different types of students in that movie.
Hey, whatever happened to that Eleventeen/I Am Vikingcore kid? Did the community regs finally shame him into submission?
No man, the "no plot" comment wasn't a criticism at all, just a point of fact. It's a fantastic portrayal of high school. The only one I like better is Dazed and Confused. That movie will live in infamy for me.
Havent seen it yet, I plan to tho. Watched Up the River tonight, that was a cool flick. Its nice to sit back, watch a show and not have to think about it, brainless humor rules at times.
Hey SK! Haven't seen you in a while. As to your point about those kinds of movies, I totally agree. This is why movies like Van Helsing and Hellboy are guilty pleasures of mine: they require no thought to watch. You just sit back and everything happens visually: you're almost not even going to listen to the lines. Humor works the same way. Although humor can get to be too stupid, and then it bothers you. Like "Dodgeball" for instance. Maybe I'm just weird, but I just couldn't disengage my brain enough to ignore the fact that in real life, shattering injuries could occur from receiving a wrench thrown at top speed into your face. The movie wasn't that funny after that.
I saw Dodgeball when it first came out in theaters and remembered it being really funny. So I went and bought the DVD and watched it again and pissed at how not funny it actually is. Anyone else see Oceans 12? That was another disappointment. Wasn't all that funny and wasn't nearly as good as the first one as far as story.

Are you kidding? I loved the crap out of Ocean's Twelve! It must be that Julia Roberts joke. That joke seems to be one of the biggest hit-or-miss jokes in recent history. It was a hit for me, though: ah, to each his/her own, I suppose. |
Well don't get me wrong, it had its funny spots. What I didn't like is there wasn't as much focus on the actual heist as there was in 11. 12 seemed to have much more focus on the characters. It wasn't a bad movie by any means, just wasn't what I was expecting I guess. (It was good enough that I did see it twice in the theater.)
It was very different from the first movie, very true. But still very good to me.
I saw Alexander last night that was so wrong we left like half way threw it was crap
I wanted to see that cause it looked awesome on previews but never did because everyone said it sucked. Was made it so bad?
I'm going to see Hotel Rwanda sometime soon (a friend of mine keeps bugging me to go see it). Hopefully it will be as good as the buzz around it suggests. As for Alexander, I heard it was mostly sucky due to terrible acting and a boring plot.

gay sex scenes, incestn pretty good sex scene though it was like a hetro one not a queer

I thought I was the only one who didn't think that movie was riotously funny. It had some moments...but seriously, Vince Vaughn annoys me. Yeah, swingers was good, (I like the other guy, think his name is John Favreau? He's great, the answering machine bit was class) but Vince ..no. Kinda like Craig Kilborne..just..no. Napolean Dynamite= Ace Alexander = dunno yet, but gay sex and incest?....intruige... |
