Currently digging The Boats - Songs by the sea. Any recommendations for similar stuff?
|
Are there any bands that make music similar to Brand New's Sink? Like I guess catchy post-hardcore is what you could call it.
|

shut up TONY
|
lol he looks for similar bands and you list all of the bands who wouldn't exist without neurosis but forget neurosis. i mean you aren't a fan if i recall but come on shelly
|
i didnt forget them theyre not on the list bc A. all the bands that have come after them and been influenced by them have actually succeeded in making awesome music and B. everyone in the world has heard neurosis so theres no need to rec them to anybody
|
i've never listened to neurosis
except this one time i played them on the indie pop station because a song was ending and i had to hurry up and grab the nearest CD |
yeah but you dont hardly listen to any good music
|
im usually listening to intense prog while you're listening to post-rock
but you're a pretty deep cat so i respect your opinion more than most here |
id rather listen to post-rock than prog for the most part
|
when i said 'yeah but you dont hardly listen to any good music' i really meant that you spend more time looking for obscure scratchy noise music collages than you do listening to the essentials of the more conventional genres
and i havent listened to post rock much at all lately. eryone knows im a post metal kinda guy. |
Statement is true.

And check out Neurosis, Frankie. I don't really get why Anthony doesn't like them but they are the best in the genre.

How much death metal do you have ? |
maybe Gorguts - Obscura
Thanks.
How much death metal do you have ?
This is my death metal folder, within I have probably the most popular album for each artist and that's it. Some albums I haven't listened to yet may or may not be death metal.
Do any acoustic screamo albums exist? If so please tell me. :)
eww |

Piece of Time is better. More straightforward, though. As far as other bands...uh...I don't know about better, but here are some things that mesh stylistically with it. Hellwitch - Syzygial Miscreancy Martyr - Feeding the Abscess (vocals are awful, but it's in the same vein, just more technical) Death - Human or Individual Thought Patterns Hieronymus Bosch - Equivoke Ephel Duath - The Painter's Palette Capharnaum - Fractured Psycroptic - The Scepter Of The Ancients (A more modern version, but the vocals are burpy and croaky and bother some people) As far as Gorguts, I'd probably say From Wisdom to Hate before Obscura, but it depends on if you want the weirdest one first (Obscura) or not. |
Ok, you should probably get Bolt Thrower - Realm of Chaos , Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness, Autopsy - Mental Funeral , and Morpheus Descends - Chronicles of the Shadowed Ones
they're the best ones out of the essential death stuff people have rec'd me |
