I just downloaded it a few days ago, it's pretty good. My only complaint would be Zack's annoying voice in the intro of Know Your Enemy.

ibanez_line6 09-25-2005 01:20 AM

where is zach now?

Apocalyptic Raids 09-25-2005 01:31 AM

No idea.

I wonder what is going on with his solo album?

ibanez_line6 09-25-2005 03:42 AM

solo album, sweet

deathscreamingsheep 09-25-2005 07:18 AM

Is it just me or does Tom Morello play guitar almost exclusively with his fingers? When I went to an audioslave gig earlier this year he didn't use a pick throughout the entire set.

I saw a video of him playing a part of Know Your Enemy without touching the strings with his right hand, he was just fretting. That might have been on the Self titled DVD actually. Reading Festival '96 possibly.

In that video they play Bombtrack and Know Your Enemy and he uses a flanger on the chorus bits, which he doesn't use in later DVD's, anyone know why he stopped using it? I think it sounds better.

Yppolitia 09-25-2005 08:35 AM

Not a single album I dont like.

I love No Shelter and Renegades of Funk.

Supposedly he's working with March of Death, but nothing has happened with that project in forever.

A local radio station of mine was talking about RATM getting back together sometime next year for a reunion tour, but I doubt it will ever happen.

March of Death was a song, which he did with D.J Shadow. He also released a song called "We Want It All" on Farenheight 9/11s soundtrack. Hes been working with a few different producers (something with Trent Reznor to) on his album, which was supposed to come out this year. :upset:

See Zack De La Rocha Network for more info.

Oh and he's playing a show with some Mexican acoustic band October 7th.

Thor 09-25-2005 10:56 AM

Read all about Zack's acoustic band here:

Yeah, It won't happen for two reasons:
1) There's nothing about it on the Audioslave of RATM official websites.
2) Audioslave is alot more successful than RATM ever was, and I don't think their going to end Audioslave already.

Darkness 09-25-2005 02:31 PM

? Audioslave isn't more successful then RATM. Rage sold way more records, and are more known. I see in the next couple years that happening though, but as of now Rage is the bigger band.

Responding to 1, maybe they're trying to keep it a secret.

Responding to 2, RATM was really succesful, dude.

Yeah, I heard that song on the radio about 6 months ago. Although, I was in work and there was alot of noise.

Uhm, I did hear it. Just not that well. Anyway, don't think I liked it, kind of annoying.

1) Good point, but then why would they tell a radio station.
2) I know they were, and I like RATM way better, but Audioslave is more popular.

No, their not.

Mambuto_O'Mally 09-25-2005 04:50 PM

They are more mainstream though. They get played alot on the radio, and how many times have you actually heard a RATM song other than Guerilla Radio on the radio? I've heard the Ghost of Tom Joad once and thats it.

Stinkfist2 09-25-2005 04:52 PM
Well I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any discussion thread about ratm. They are easily one of my favorite bands, and I thought we could use this thread to talk about them.

I'll start off with a simple subject: favorite album?

For me it would have to be self titled, for sure.
I don't really have one but I love them. Too bad they broke up :/

I've heard a lot of the singles on the radio. Like People of the Sun and Bulls on Parade. Audioslave is simply more radiofriendly.

They gradually got worse IMO, BUT the first 3 are still really close and are all classics. I just listened to BOLA for the first time in one year... good stuff. Tom is such a wicked player. Ashes in the Fall is still my favorite off that cd..

Static 09-25-2005 08:16 PM

Definately, when he starts whacking off the whammy bar...classic.

I wouldn't call it a classic because not too many people know about it, but it is still awesome.

I just found RATM's four album for sale. S/T, EE, BOLA and Renegades. I am getting them today, for like $40. Score..:) They had the live at Grand A for sale too...but only the CD, I would prefer getting the DVD. ;)

I can't pick which one I like the most. Selft Titled and BOLA are pretty much tired.

I meant classic as in RATM classic, not music in general.

Ahhhh, I see. I still don't think it's even a RATM classic because I've never heard about them playing it at a show before. A real RATM classic would be something like Killing in the Name, Sleep Now in the Fire, Bulls on Parade, Freedom, etc.
