The thing is, its OK to have a metal band with nine members if they all wear masks. With the masks off, it'll look stupid to have so many band members, they should trim down to six anyway
Theres no way that would work.

Thor 05-21-2005 08:48 PM
prelude 3.0 is good.... but not their best. I like Disasterpiece the most
I used to not like Disasterpiece, but it's sort of grown on me over the past year. The lyrics are still retarded, but the drums are really impressive.

Huber 05-30-2005 04:39 PM

So, anyone in here want to do a cover for this contest thing?

Thor 05-30-2005 05:16 PM

I would play bass, but I'm already working with Metallica. I made the rule that you can only work with one band, but I might change it.

Moses 05-30-2005 05:17 PM
I would play bass, but I'm already working with Metallica. I made the rule that you can only work with one band, but I might change it.
Yeah you should lay out some official rules.

Thor 05-30-2005 05:18 PM

Well you can work with more than one band if you want to. I'll play bass for the Slipknot cover.

I think that we should play Purity.

Moses 05-30-2005 05:33 PM

I think you should be able to work with more than one as long as you're doing a different instrument.

Thor 05-30-2005 05:58 PM

You can play whatever instrument you want for any thread, I just made that a rule.

spenser93 05-30-2005 06:14 PM

slipknot.......eh

slipknots ok, i dont like how theyre changing metal into this new ****, but their guitarists are pretty good, but no hendrix or page, i dont like the masks or that theyre so mainstream little 10 year olds worshop them, if they lost the masks and went down to 5 guys id really like em, theyre ok but their no iron maiden, slayer or metallica.

Huber 05-30-2005 06:40 PM

Last time I tried to play Purity on drums, I almost fell over. That's a hard beat.

Sleeper 05-30-2005 06:41 PM

I can play all of Purity on drums, and any song of Slipknot. Something off Iowa would be nice, But theres so many instruments.

Huber 05-30-2005 06:43 PM

I don't know why, but playing Before I Forget sounds fun. I don't know how fun the guitar/bass parts are for that song though. Just my opinion.

Sleeper 05-30-2005 06:45 PM

Well whos doing what parts for sure?

BassMasterMike88 05-30-2005 06:45 PM

Good luck playing somthing off of Iowa, that is probably one of the heavist albums I've heard.

Huber 05-30-2005 06:45 PM

That doesn't mean it's hard though.

Well slipknot is my favorite band, so i think can manage.

Sleeper 05-30-2005 06:48 PM

The hardest songs off Iowa for drums are prolly The shape, People=****, Disasterpiece.

spenser93 05-30-2005 07:01 PM

The metallica ones gonna win they already got bass and drums done i think, and the rythm guitar almost. and a wayyyyyyyy better song.

wow stfu

DemonicRubberDucky 05-30-2005 07:27 PM

I kinda have a view on Slipknot, i love their music, but they consider the "sampler" to be an important part of the band. the sampler is the guy with the mask with the spikes going through it. What does the sampler do?... press the "play" button to activate the weird noises. Does anyone here think that they should get rid of the sampler and give his job to the DJ, since the DJ dosen't do a whole lot as it is?

Sleeper 05-30-2005 07:30 PM

If Joz was here, He could give a better explanation then me. But mainly everyone in Slipknot have there own parts, The one your referring to as the sampler is Craig Jones. Him and Sid Wilson (the dj) have there own important parts to worry about. If you dont think the Dj does anything for the band then i suggest checking out there DVD 'Disasterpieces'.

DemonicRubberDucky 05-30-2005 07:36 PM

Dude, i know he does stuff for the band, the DJ has a very vital part, he just dosen't do a WHOLE LOT every single song, ya know?

Sleeper 05-30-2005 07:40 PM

Yeh, I didnt understand what you meant.

Huber 05-30-2005 07:41 PM

Don't brag man. The drums I recorded sound horrible!

Jordison is a drum god man, hes insane.

Exactly, that is a great DVD. I like Sids little solo. :D

Nah, most of the Death Metal drummers I hear are better than him.
Not that he sucks or something, just he's not as good as some of the DM drummers.

/my opinion

The masks are what make them unique as well as the signature sound they have. You can never mistake them for another band. Comparing Mick and James to Hendrix and Page dosent really go together. They arent the same type of guitarists. Mick and James are Shred guitarists and Jimi and Page are Pschyadelic Rock guitarists. Granted Page is a decently fast guitarist and dont get me wrong he is INCREDIBLE, they just cant be compared he dosent really go for speed. As for the 10 years olds, I know MANY MANY MANY older people, more than 10 year olds who like them.

Well he dosent really do blast beats. Hes more of a speed drummer, you know what I mean? I have heard some incredible Death Metal drummers too.

Huber 05-30-2005 08:26 PM

Joey is a good drummer. Not a God by any means, however. He isn't as fast as you think. Lots of his ever so famous "furious fills" are basically the same thing every time.

jamesclelland 05-30-2005 10:17 PM

can anyone help me out with some MFKR wav files.

WAV prefered, but MP3 is ok, i can crossfade and upgrade for cd burning purposes.
Thank you to anyone who can. adamjones_god@yahoo.com

Huber 06-01-2005 07:12 PM

Yeah, you'll be banned soon.

Thor 06-01-2005 07:13 PM

Good to see that his post is gone.

exup 06-07-2005 08:18 AM

I saw them yesterday and it was pretty cool.
Not a very long show but could be wors.

ramone_kid 06-10-2005 04:21 PM

IMO i love Joey's solos and fills,

Thor 06-10-2005 04:43 PM
IMO i love Joey's solos and fills,
Well as long as you just like them and don't say "OMG j03Y r t3h #1 drUm/\/\3r 3v3r!!!!11", people won't flame you. Try and keep it that way.

thelittledrummerboy 06-10-2005 09:39 PM

Who wrote the songs on Vol 3?

The JoZ 06-10-2005 09:47 PM
Who wrote the songs on Vol 3?
All of them, most likely.

In the Iowa guitar book, every member but Craig is credited with writing every song...I would imagine it's the same this time, although, honestly, with the work Craig did on this album, I wouldn't be surprised if he WAS credited with it.
