Soulseek.

RetiredAt21 01-09-2006 05:52 PM

I don't have Soulseek. :(

Subvert_bassist 01-09-2006 05:54 PM

EDIT: Got AIM? I could send ya some. s/n: Listen To Sludge
Is this a new band or Subvert Citizens new name?
Subvert's new name. We've been around awhile here, and that name has been and still is asociated of the old-*** street punk that used to be Subvert Citizens. Since we haven't recorded and released anything in awhile, and last time we did was street punk, we decided to go with a better name and release some crust/thrash/sludge stuff under the new name.

whiteminority 01-09-2006 06:06 PM

Have you guys ever done a tour around the country? I sure as hell would like to see Doves Lie Dead out here in Tennessee.

clustifux 01-09-2006 06:17 PM

this means i have to edit my ipod, damn it. I still think subvert was a rockin name.

AIRIC 01-09-2006 06:20 PM

If you for some reason came to New York, and found yourself a show among Upstate New York's metalcore scene I would definintely go.

Gnarmageddon 01-09-2006 06:30 PM

No grind or crust shows in Indy pretty much ever. The closest we have is Wasteland DC, a crappy punk band and quite a few horror punk bands, which all suck.

DaveToopes 01-09-2006 07:03 PM

All horror punk sucks though, IMO.

Subvert_bassist 01-09-2006 08:41 PM

If and when we travel abroad, I'll be sure to post in here to let you all know. Thanks for the input on the name guys.
Who has a new drummer, The Number Twelve Looks Like You or Ed Gein?
The Number Twelve Looks Like You

Minus The Misfits and some psychobilly.

Man, I'll bet TN12LLY puts on a crazy show.

Subvert_bassist 01-10-2006 11:33 AM

Well, I'll find out and tell you, haha.

Scabies 01-10-2006 11:35 AM

Skitsystem next month, not often that 'big name' crust bands come to england.

I like psychobilly, just not straight up horrorpunk.

RetiredAt21 01-10-2006 03:17 PM

Pretty much the only horror punk I like is the Misfits, Samhain, and Son Of Sam.

Gnarmageddon 01-10-2006 04:02 PM

Son of Sam is good.

I just got a bunch of Holy Molar from Rupert. They rule.

Subvert_bassist 01-10-2006 11:47 PM

Oh god do they. The lead singer of Voetsek was the that show last Friday. God is she big and mean. Haha. I can't wait to play with them.

Even more so, I can't wait for the Ed Gein/TN12LLY show. That ****'s gonna be siiiiiiiiiiiiiick.

Scabies 01-11-2006 11:09 AM

Yeah man, Holy Molar is a great band. Kind of like a less spazzy Locust, I actually prefer them to the Locust a little bit.

AIRIC 01-11-2006 09:16 PM

DS-13's cover of New Aryans is so sweet.

conniption 01-11-2006 09:23 PM

TNTLLY puts on a great show. Its pretty energetic, and they play a good set. When I saw them in july they only played one song off N.S.N, and it was the best one (Devils Dick Disaster).

You guys should check out Akela, good stuff.

Subvert_bassist 01-11-2006 09:29 PM

Aaaaaaaah, that's my favorite one from them, too.

RetiredAt21 01-12-2006 12:55 AM
DS-13's cover of New Aryans is so sweet.
I had no idea they did a cover of my favorite Reagan Youth song. DAYUM, I gotta hear it.

Subvert_bassist 01-12-2006 11:46 AM

I just downloaded it, it's soooo sweet.

RetiredAt21 01-12-2006 02:56 PM

Ah, my computer is so slow, it won't let me download it. :(

AIRIC 01-12-2006 09:16 PM

I just checked out Thulsa Doom and they are great. They don't have crappy crust vocals, which is probably why I like them so much.

whiteminority 01-13-2006 05:59 PM

Havn't heard them. You got a link by chance?

heyimsheep1 01-13-2006 09:36 PM

Anyone heard of Deadfall?
They're from East Bay. I passed up a chance to see them in Berkeley tonight.
Never listened to them, though.

Also, does anyone know if Wolfbrigade are still together? I got In Darkness You Feel No Regrets. It's mindblowing.

AIRIC 01-13-2006 10:21 PM

Wolfbrigade are great. I love them because it seems like they just explode into their songs kind of like Skitsystem.

Subvert_bassist 01-13-2006 11:38 PM

Ok. Well, yes, I've heard of Deadfall. We're supposed to play with them in a month or so with BORN/DEAD, but Deadfall it taking forever to get back to us. But they're a great band; most of the east bay scene is good. Check out the Rosenbaums, if you can find them.

As for Wolfbrigade, as amazing as they are, they are broken up. Their vocalist can't scream anymore due to some throat problem.

P.S: heyimsheep1, get the Wolfbrigade album Progression/Regression. One ****ing amazing album right there.

clustifux 01-13-2006 11:42 PM
Ok. Well, yes, I've heard of Deadfall. We're supposed to play with them in a month or so with BORN/DEAD, but Deadfall it taking forever to get back to us. Great band.
You Guys are playing with born/dead? where the **** at?
and...
Does anyone else like f-minus? A lot of people absolutly hate them and i cant see why? I absolutly love'em. especially the songs that are under 50 seconds.

AIRIC 01-13-2006 11:45 PM

I like them and still rock my size small shirt.

Subvert_bassist 01-13-2006 11:54 PM

Yeah, I never got too into F-Minus, but what I did hear of them was good.

We're playing with them at some squat house. Fleas and Lice played this place a few months back; maybe you remember it? If not, I'll get you info, I'm sure.

Brain Toad 01-14-2006 12:00 AM

This thread is really active lately, so I just got an idea. Since this is the main discussion thread for Grind, Crust and D-Beat (throwing it in there since it crosses over with crust a lot), it should also have some education. So I think someone (I'm looking at you, J) should write up a couple paragraph explaination of the 3 genres. I will take these explainations and put them in the first post (with credit of course) And it doesn't have to be just one person, you guys can collob on it and such.

clustifux 01-14-2006 12:03 AM

i thought we had everything with the generas discussed a couple 20 posts or so ago.

Brain Toad 01-14-2006 12:04 AM

Those wer ethe blurbs for the list. I'm thinking of something a bit longer if possible. Look at the other education threads, like Oi or Ska.
