The String Cheese Incident - Born on the Wrong Planet (Fabulous album and jam band, they perfected Bluegrass)
If im not mistaken that is the other guitarist in Tenacious D correct? |
Cream is my favorite classic rock band
can beat lyrics such as "....but the rainbow has a beard!"
Cream *drools* their song sra ejust completely mindblowingly amazingly good. "twice upon a time in the valley of the tears the auctioneer is bidding on a box of fading years" |
If im not mistaken that is the other guitarist in Tenacious D correct?
No, it's a band, and I'm pretty sure Kyle Glass isn't in the band. |
A big help was School of Rock. Immigrant song was really popular when that movie came out with my friends and such. I had been listening to classic rock for a while and when that movie came out EVERYONE wanted to either start a band or listen to some zep.
|
Random rock fact: what was the first movie led zeppelin ever let use their music ?(I don't think they normally do let them).
|
Dazed and Confused?
|
Dazed and Confused?
Is their music even on that movie? |
dunnno. I think so. Just saw it again 2 weeks ago.
|
wrong and wrong again
dunnno. I think so. Just saw it again 2 weeks ago.
almost famous, the wonderfully beautiful song that's the way, that was the first movie to use thier music, this is so wierd i did the same thing my senior year of high school a few years back, hey guy who started this post AEROSMITH, GO BUY THIER FIRST 5 ALBUMS, THEY ARE VERY VERY GOOD |
Wrong
hell yea Free Bird's massive solo! Skynrd were pioneers, they started Southern Rock... but they were still classic! BUT I don't think that they were the best classic rock band, but they were one of the best, at least. I personally think Zeppelin was the best classic rock band of all.
ALLMAN BROTHERS |

im more into the start of black sabbath to metallicas black album. That time period, 68 - 91
|
almost famous, the wonderfully beautiful song that's the way, that was the first movie to use thier music,
That's the answer I was looking fo, but I do beleive that's not the only song of theirs in the movie (when they're going into new yorkand they find out he's not a virgin it's playing misty mountain hop if I remember correctly). That is why I do not beleive that dazed aand confused has any of their music in it. |
No, it's a band, and I'm pretty sure Kyle Glass isn't in the band.
Really? I could have swore that Kyle Glass appeared on one of their cd's. |
Didn't they use some of it in The song remains the same?
|
ALLMAN BROTHERS
:thumb: Very good. We have a n00b who knows their ****. This is good, You have earned my respect. |
Didn't they use some of it in The song remains the same?
No, that was ed zeppelin stupid! (I was actually going to say that as a joke too [with different wodring ofcourse]) |
i am a huge classic rock band and i do agree with you that there is a new found interest in classic bands . the public interest for classic rock will come and go with the changing fads but if your a real fan than your always a fan i guess
|
What are some other bands like Black Sabbath and do you consider them Classic rock? I want some more band sbecause I like the Sabbath style more than the Zep style of rock.
check out blue cheer
Will do, thanks. |
A few days ago I saw Him Mitchell play. Man that was a good concert. Anybody else like Kim Mitchell?
|
Yeah dude, Max Webster stuff is cool :)
Good stuff. He's actually a good guitarist. |
Indeed he is. Indeed.
|
Hey, I may go see the Allman Brothers soon. Is Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes playing with them, on this tour?
|
Warren Haynes is.
|
I was pretty sure about that, but is Derek?
|
That, I don't know. There was an article about them in this months guitar world, but its at home and I'm at work...
Google it maybe? |
It doesn't matter really, because I'll go just because of Warren.
|
Warren Hanes is enough by himself. But another guy would make it better.
Btw what happened to Dicki? |
Im only 14 it amazes me that most people of my age couldnt tell Green Day from
Zeppelin there missing out on great music. Classic Rock is by far the best there is. Everything on my playlist is older than me. I havent heard a solo in a new song in so long. Its sad :upset: |
classic rock is the s'hit. i love all the big names--aerosmith, zep, hendrix, many others, also i like less known bands like allman bros, tesla, doobie bros,38 special, black crowes-- i like new rock that sounds like classic rock, like the darkness, ben kweller, silvertide
|

:) good for him. He has 6 months to live acording to the laws of rock and roll. Any guitarist from a great guitar band that goes solo will die within 6 months of leaving the band. I'll miss him :(
|
it makes me sad cuz im 15 and all my music is at least 15 years older than me. i went to see kiss and aerosmith and it was the s'hit!!!!!!!!
|
I bet I can play for The Allman Brothers. Has anyone noticed that they hire and have a good amount of Blonde haired men playing for them. There's my ticket in ;)
|

Hrmm...what about Clapton? Slashs snakepit had some good stuff. John Frusciante seems to be doing well. |
