go with number of the beast
its a classic

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-05-2004 01:36 AM

classic yes very much so. Somewhere in Time is my personal favourite, but i think you have to be into Maiden's classic sound before you'd fully appriciate it. Number of the Beast is a perfect intro studio album for a beginning Maiden fan.

**NEWSFLASH**

Former IRON MAIDEN Singers DI'ANNO, BAYLEY Perform Together - July 4, 2004

Former IRON MAIDEN vocalists Paul Di'Anno and Blaze Bayley teamed up for a duet on the MAIDEN classic "Running Free" as part of their appearance at the Rock The Nations Open Air Festival in Istanbul, Turkey this past weekend. The three-day event, which took place July 2-4 at the Maslak venue, featured performances by both Paul Di'Anno's new solo band (dubbed SCREAMING MONKEY) and Bayley's BLAZE project. This was the first time ever that the two former MAIDEN singers have performed together.
Sorry, frail. but thats old :p saw it many months ago..
i know its old, but they just did it lol. i was hoping someone would have a link to a site that had an audio or video clip.

Thunder Fingers 07-05-2004 01:00 PM

there was only one CD in Maiden England.... and Raising Hell have never been released as an CD(maby as an bootleg)... Raising Hell DVD have never been released official yet... thers a reason Rock in rio is called "Iron Maiden's first DVD"...

asnd you forgot a real live/dead one... its the duble disc that came out of the two "A real .... One" Cds...

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-05-2004 01:05 PM

yeah i saw that, one of the remasters...i have them seperatly but should pick up the remastered version for sound quality, i prefer the Donnington show to those live albums from that tour.

HondoII 07-05-2004 01:06 PM

I got all of those albums listed (and the ones GURs added) plus the Brazillian LAD dvd w00t

Oh and raising hell cd was a VHS audio rip. So it is a bootleg

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-05-2004 01:08 PM

anyone else want to see Nicko's rock band he hopes to tour with in the fall, "McBrain's Damage"? has ex-members of Black Sabbath and Quiet Riot among others.

I have listened to a lot of it, my guitar teacher's a big maiden fan, but I only have Powerslave and Dance of Death, I want to get more though, so I'll buy whichever I can find.

I WISH I had the original sound house tapes EP. But alas, mine is a cheap replica which can be found on ebay for cheap.

FrailandBedazzled1979 07-06-2004 01:22 AM

what Iron Maiden song got you guys hooked one he band?

for me it was "here to eternity" and "the wickerman".

Facsimile 07-06-2004 04:57 AM

Two Minutes to Midnight was the first song I heard, but Number of the Beast was the one that blew my mind.

Thunder Fingers 07-06-2004 05:03 AM
Eddie you play a Washburn Idol?
i dont remember.. i think the wickerman was one of them...

GurS 07-06-2004 06:25 AM

the first maiden song i heard was "bring your daughter to the slaughter", which i thought was a decent enough song, but couldn't understand what all the hype was. i then heard "run to the hills" and "fear of the dark live" and was, in a word, hooked. I got number of the beast album and that's where it all kicked off.

On amazon, i found (on the zShop auction thing) a copy of live!! + one going for $50.

Also, am I the only one who's noticed that since frail has returned to this thread, it's been constantly on the first page rather than rattling around on the fifth?

i tried to keep it on the first page, but im gues im not as populare as frail :p

GurS 07-06-2004 06:48 AM

'twas merely an observation.

here's a good game for increasing the thread popularity.

someone has to say AT LEAST one line of a maiden song. Everyone else then has to guess which song it is, and what album it's from. The person who said the line then has to post the verse or chorus that the line is from, making the line bold and italics. if that makes sense.

So i'll start.

"even in my wildest dreams"
