Risbo: Same here. I probably wouldn't be playing at the magnitude I am now. I'd probably be awful at slapping and tapping o_O. MX taught me basically everything I know about bass (before MX i was 99% picks, now I play fingerstyle. Not saying picking is bad, but fingerstyle is more me, and MX helped me develop that).

The bass forum is one of the best forums on MX. It's probably the most civil, for a start, and has one of the highest standards of written English.

I think it's because of me and the fact that I am so meticulous with my grammar. I don't really care about anyone else's grammar, but when someone calls me an idiot and have awful grammar "your an idiot [kind of ironic...it's you're for you are, and your as in posessive]," I will point out the irony.

"What are you, an English teacher?" is usually the response, but I'm just pointing out glaring contradictions :)

Perhaps it's because bassists are obviously smarter than the average neanderthal. Or perhaps that we don't get many immature pre-pubescent teens, who ask idiotic questions, and flame people with out the slightest idea on how to "Pwn" someone.

Aw, guys...my sister's boyfriend Eric, who's been like a brother to me for about 4 years (they've been dating for 4 years), is moving to Florida. He's 20 (Erin's 19) and he's the man. It sucks because he's been closer to me than I thought.

I figured they'd get married or something. I hate my sister with a passion, but Eric is the man because he sticks up for me against my parents, which takes serious balls.
