i think its been on the site for quite a while, long before the rumors of the new album started i believe, so i dont think it has anything to do with that.

Does he play the other guitar parts in The Patient live? I believe there is more than one guitar going on in the beginning.

Jones uses an Epilady for the solo in Triad. It's used to remove hair from any part of your body. :p

Sliptallica- That's a synthesizer, not a second guitar. I'm guessing during live sets, they have it on loop or something.

ive never seen it played live, but theres obviously no way they can play 3 guitar parts live. maybe Maynard plays one but he third must be synth.

Live Mayanrd dsnt play anything. I ehard somewere that it was just double tracking, cause if you listen closely it plays the same stuff that Adam plays I think. . . prob just a double track. . dunno. . .am not much of an effects expert

Adam does play the synth live, he has it hooked up to a floor pedal that triggers the synth when he steps on it. pretty cool.

and maynard does play something live. He is using one of the steinberg looking things, possibly a synth guitar like the Roland V-guitar. I have never been able to figure out what he is doing the times ive seen them live.

every Tool song ever has double tracking. All metal/rock music in general has 2 sometimes even 8 (Justice) guitar tracks, Mostly playing the same thing, but it makes the guitars sound a lot bigger and heavier. Ive always doubled rhythms during heavy parts.

Exactly. On most heavy records, there are layers and layers of guitars to keep things thick.
