Faithealer used to be called Architects too, but yeah, in my opinion the british Architects are the best of the lot.
|
Architect is pretty sweet band.
I don't like their sound; too muddy for me. I like my tech metal very clean and crisp sounding. Architects is also a bit more original, I think. |
Listen to Lamplighter, it might be on their myspace.
I think you'd like it. |
You won't make itttttttttt
|
Fuc k tomorrow, live for today.
|
Been listening to lots of Coalesce lately, I can't wait for their new album!
I'm really hoping it will be awesome. |

|

We Will Turn Your Cemetrries Into Cathedrals, And Your Cities Into Tombs is elite, way better than Architects. |
Def have to check that **** if thats the case...

That demo is pretty awesome but I have to say I still prefer Architects. |
Hokay so im listening to Hopesfall-The Satellite Years right now. I can't decide if this is Hardcore, Metalcore, or Post-Hardcore...its really pissing me off
right now im settling on Hardcore as a median between the other two but... |
It's metalcore with post hardcore parts.
|

Overrated is the best way to describe hopesfall.
Although I guess if it's generic NOW it would have been pretty sweet in 2002. |
metalcore is pretty lolz these days, not gonna lie
|
I'm getting more and more interesting in tech-metalcore lately.
Like Fellsilent, After The Burial, Born Of Oasis and Architects as mentioned earlier. Any other recommendations in the genre would be cool. (tech metalcore = I can't predict each hit of the breakdown) |
Born Of Osiris maybe? After The Burial are pretty sick, Hacksaw To The Throat might fit here, new Conducting From The Grave is badass also
|
Hacksaw To The Throat is death metal...
|
i should prolly get into metalcore... I listen to a bit of the more mainstream stuff.
As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage. 1st post! :D |
Cool.

What I simply don't like about metalcore are the switches between harsh and clean singing. The songs try to be relentless and brutal but the momentum dies once the chorus begins. That and it's always sounded like punk kids trying to be metal. Maybe I just have a think against punk kids. Probably.
|
or maybe you haven't heard any good metalcore bands idk.
|

Woops, I typed Born Of Oasis in my post. I meant OSIRIS. Very cool band. Conduction from the Grave is also very neat, I posted about them in this thread a few days ago. Check out fellsilent if you (meaning everybody) haven't heard of them: www.myspace.com/fellsilent Seneca probably can get a place on the list as well: http://www.myspace.com/senecaband Hacksaw To The Throat is a little too metal for me. Not enough coar! Rawr! Although it took me a few sings to get a solid opinion on them. They are very diverse musically. Of course the two I gave links to in this thread have singing, but it's tasteful and minimal. Verse - chorus structure is not good for metal in general. Or most other genres, but that's another matter. The biggest offender of what you're talking about is 'scene' bands like Devil Wears Prada and whatever such nonsense kids are listening to these days. It's not tonally consistent and it's very off putting. |
