Hawthorne Heights are Ok :)
*sigh* if they could make a happy medium from whiny vocals and the wanna be metal scream i might listen....but as soon as i hear /whiny voice, hardly audible "i cant make it on my own" /hardly whiny, too audible "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAHBLAH BLAH BLAH BLAAAAAAH" see if they switched it around and made the BLAH part inaudible, and made the singing better i would listen ^^ if you tried to understand that,....im sorry for wasting your time  |
They are like a not as good alexisonfire to me. It's just good to just listen to as like background music. You can't sit there and just concentrate on the music, it isn't good enough. But yeah, i did kinda just download as many albums as i could from the pop-punk YSI thread before my holiday and i enjoyed the HH one.

"Slit my wrists and Black my eyes"
"Slit my wrists and Black my eyes"
................Need I say more?
I don't really know the band that well, but I thought this was a mockery...meh. Oh and Bena nd Kurrpt and any other Kanye haters...check out his latest gem...
"I think I carry a lot of stuff on my records," he says. "Sometimes I feel like I’m carrying the whole of hip hop itself, the state of music too. I’ve just tried to push the envelope."
|
I don't really know the band that well, but I thought this was a mockery...meh.
Mockery indeed. When I see those lyrics typed on usernames across this world of troubled youth known as Myspace, the only emotion I can distribute is a mixture of laughter and pain. Some may think this is anachronistic. I think its well deserved. |
"Slit my wrists and Black my eyes"
Was it their new or their self titled album? I haven't heard their new one, but I've heard it's very different from their debut..
The album was A Beautiful Lie. |
Was it their new or their self titled album? I haven't heard their new one, but I've heard it's very different from their debut..
The new one is good, the cover of Bjorks hunter at the end hits the spot for me. |
I'd recommend listening to their self titled debut.. Some of the lyrics are cheesy, (It's a "concept album" based on space themes).. But the songwriting is really really solid
|
I have both :)
I heard attack while on holiday in america, and the statin i was listening to was advertising a free concert for them...i thought they sounded ok so i downloaded both the albums. Sounds good to me :) |
Wich album do you prefer?
|
I'm just messing around here on my guitar, and I've almost nailed the non-pick scrape into to Prison Sex.
|
Wich album do you prefer?
I'm halfway through the first one now, I prefer the second one at the moment, but that's because it was easier to listen to and this one seems slightly repetitive, but my opinion will probably change when i listen to them more. I am enjoying their sound though. |
yeah dude3, 3 guitar players is stupid.
Watch it guys, Maiden has 3 guitar players. :thumb: |
Watch it guys, Maiden has 3 guitar players. :thumb:
Point Proven! :thumb:   |
Radiohead often have 3 guitarists, and it's an amazing thing.
|
3 guitarists is cool.
Too bad none of the guitarists in Hawthorne Heights have any talent whatsoever. |
Slipkont have 1 drummer + 2 percussionists.I don't think that's really needed. And don't they have like a pointless fat guy who does mess during the live show?
|
Slipkont have 1 drummer + 2 percussionists.I don't think that's really needed. And don't they have like a pointless fat guy who does mess during the live show?
It is needed. Not in the studio, but their live show benefits from these clowns inciting the crowd and stuff. |
Remember that Slipknot is really a live band, like their music or not, but that many members on stage create one hell of a stage presence
|
It is needed. Not in the studio, but their live show benefits from these clowns inciting the crowd and stuff.
Showmanship then, so they're basically there to pump the crowd up. |
If ONE MORE PERSON complains about Slipknot's three percussionists, I'll shoot him.
|
If ONE MORE PERSON complains about Slipknot's three percussionists, I'll shoot him.
I better keep my mouth shut then. :amaze: |
It is needed.
Why? Bands like Tool or Muse can pump the crowd up just as well with way less than half the members. :p But for Slipknot? Yeah, for them maybe it IS needed. |
I kind of like Slipknot. The stuff on Volume 3 is really good.
|

I like Slipknot also.
I like Iowa more than anything else though. Everything except Heretics Anthem. |

im not a fan of slipknot. they seem to ehh., i dunno, just not a fan :mysmiliesdontworksopicturetheonewiththebigthumbhere:
Don't bash.It only leads to conflicts and pointless fights.
Please. Don't take me seriously. I like a couple of Slipknot songs, they're not my cup of tea most of the time, but I'm not saying they're terrible or anything. They do what they do well; strike a chord with angsty teens. |
I like Slipknot too. I don't really think they're that talented or anything, but they make some good songs.
I like their first 2 cds the best. For some reason, I pretty much hated their newest effort. |
I had a odd thing happen to me the other day; a group of godcore/hXc kids claimed that I had bad musical taste because I listened to Radiohead. I was confused at first, but the irony hit me and I just laughed. Later one of my friends was talking to the same guys, and when he brought up the subject of Tool, they said something like "I hate Tool, they suck and are satanic". That was just even funnier to me.
To add meaning to this post, anyone else have any experiences with people who were just so musically ignorant they make you laugh? |
Um, what the hell is godcore.
|
Not a genre, if thats what your asking.

Oh, god, yes. But I won't go into it now...I've got a paper to finish. |

yeah, my sister f.e. though she is 3years older than me (23) she really thinks that i believe in satan: and that only cause i once draw a pentagram and i listen to metal-music. she doesn't respect and tolerate the music i listen too.... that's so sad, cause its my sister!! i don't have a problem being called 'satanist' |

To add meaning to this post, anyone else have any experiences with people who were just so musically ignorant they make you laugh?
This may just be me being an *** but it bothers me when like twice a day someone comes up to you and goes "Rap or Rock?" as though they are the only two genres any teenage kid would listen to. Argh. Edit: Oh, and Hoorah! for the Slipknot representation.
Why? Bands like Tool or Muse can pump the crowd up just as well with way less than half the members. :p But for Slipknot? Yeah, for them maybe it IS needed.
The percussionists give the music the primal aggresion that they've always wanted and gotten in there music. If you need an explanation for the DJ, you need to listen closer as he adds so much to the S/T album and Iowa, and there is a ton of sampling to be done. They aren't unnecessary, they serve great purposes. |
