BNW has an awesome cover!

Surtr 10-23-2005 02:06 PM

BNW has the best cover if you ask me.

Artemician 10-23-2005 02:07 PM

I'll always say Powerslave has the best cover, mostly because I'm a sucker for anything even remotely Egyptian.

Take it it's not his son that time, eh?:p

Unless Steve's five year old son is 10' tall.

Steve does have a tendency to create legendary things; so who knows?

the_uber_penguin 10-23-2005 02:53 PM

How scary would that be though?

Steve and Eddie doing the secks?

Makes me feel comfortable on porn again.

mmm...porn...

anyway...i'm really bored. listening to that dragonforce album again (well parts of it). only another 5 days without my family, what a shame :p

so anyway, what sort of theme do you lot reckon the next album will follow? a sort of mythical one? it is supposed to be along the same line as SSOASS, i think.

what themes have Maiden got left to explore?

I hope it has to do with something mythical like. As great as an album covered with songs with roughly the same subject of Paschendale would be, I'd much prefer an album about the Vikings invading England..(only make the songs better than Invaders was)

Invaders is ace and so is Invasion.

Riva 10-23-2005 07:57 PM

I'm hoping Mystical like power metal, but then I dread the wave of people catergorising Maiden as power metal.

the_uber_penguin 10-23-2005 08:35 PM

I quite liken the political direction they were leaning with songs like Face In The Sand. Then again, I got into guitar music through pop-punk then punk, so that's understandable.

The last album was kinda about death (I saw an interview with Bruce where he relates every song to death). I think it'd be interesting to do a similar thing with life. Or maybe that's a bit SSOASS.

Or they could take a classic novel and convert it into a book (a little like they did with SSOASS). Something like 1984 or something.

Or even (long shot here): an album about West Ham winning the premier league :D

Riva 10-23-2005 09:32 PM

Well, with a name like Dance of Death, you'd almost expect it to be about death and mortality. :)

That would be awesome, as long as they picked a good novel..not something like Harry Potter..imagine the Maiden songs that would come from that....

It would be funny. They could do a B-side with that.

1984 would be good.

Maybe they could write one about Goodbye Lenin. That's a really good film.

True, but it wasn't written as a concept album.

Actually...Wildest Dreams can't really be linked to death convincingly either.

Hey Guys I've been thinking about learnning the trooper. before I
do though is it very hard? I'm pretty sure I can learn it...but you know.

and is there any tab out there that you all would recomend?

it depends on what instrument you want, and how you want to play it (same as the band or make some adjustments for easier playing). but the basic answer is "intermediate"

Britton 10-24-2005 10:51 PM

I'm a really good player (Guitar) but I might need to learn the bass too

smart blockhead 10-24-2005 10:53 PM

David Bowie already did an album based on 1984, Invaders sucks dick, and Powerslave, Killers, and Number of the Beast, are the best Eddies.
I'm a really good player (Guitar) but I might need to learn the bass too
A little cocky huh?

Britton 10-24-2005 10:58 PM

No I'm not cocky. A lot of really good players have told me I'm good.
I'm sorry if it came out as me being cocky.

So can ya'll hook me up?

-The Frank 10-25-2005 02:08 AM

oh, my bad. But yah, the trooper is better as a full band song, still sounds good with one instrument though.
