How did you get it on your first try?!? You're so smart.

Gnarmageddon 06-22-2005 09:03 PM

So I was going for 6k tonight. But I'm getting too tired. And I want to go Play KOTOR. I guess I'll end on a 69. :D

Understanding In a Crash 06-22-2005 09:09 PM

If you like the gameplay in KOTOR, most definitely check out Jade Empire. The only thing hard to swallow about that game is the storyline, but even IGN gave that game a 9.9. I think that may be the highest rating tying some of the GTA games.

The game was hardly that good, although not bad at all either.

The game was cool for the first three chapters, but then the game became uber linear. The second to last chapter when you have to defend the palace is really cool though.

The big plot twist in the game was obvious to an extent.

The battle system was somewhat lame, considering there were only two attack buttons. (It's redeeming though that there are so many different styles though. Even if some styles [Legendary Strike] are clearly inferior to others [Thousand Cuts]).

The Good/Evil system was an obvious rip off of KOTOR. Even more shameless that it's made by the same frickin' company. I guys the Good/Evil thing is their thing.

I had fun with it though, and the demo of the new Conkurs Bad Fur Day was really cool. (it was on the Jade Empire disc that I got)

A job!? Finally! Yey! :) Where?

I could be making a crap-load of money eventually with this job.

No blonde, no.

I'm selling knives.

Yeah...but you'll lose about 20% to taxes assuming it's a legit job heh. I lost $150 on my last pay check heh.

Still, money is unfortunately necessary so can't do without one.

Maybe I'll bleach my hair just to be like "Oh man, Seth would hate this."

Why does that sound like a really bad idea to me?

MattSharpIsCool 06-22-2005 10:09 PM

To Vince: I could be making $3,000 per week after maybe 3 months.

To Rissa: Because no one likes blonde hair. Ick.

Man...I'd love to believe you..but I have to call bullshit. You didn't just get hired at a 150k per year job. That's more than most college educated kids make. By about a factor of three.

MattSharpIsCool 06-22-2005 10:15 PM

I'll explain the pay scale to you.

It goes by levels, depending on how much merchandise you've sold. Theres a 0-1000 level, where you make 10% of how much you've sold. 1000-3000 level, where it goes to 15%. 3000-6000 level, up to 20%. 6000-10000 level, up to 25%. And last, 10000+ level, where you make 30% of what you've sold.

30% of 10,000 is 3,000. Thats not including taxes and such though.

*smiles* What you don't realize yet is how hard it is to sell $10000 worth of merchandise. If you manage to sell that much I would be very very impressed. For example, the grocery store I work at is fairly large...and sells $30000 worth of groceries per week. Also be aware that you'll probably saturate your market unless you're traveling all over the place.

Photoshop it in and try it out. My vote is also on no.

Well now you've got me doubting it. Might be a good thing too. I ran a google search about the company, and it seems they've had some problems with employees, saying how hard it is to sell the products. Hmm.

Selling knives doesn't seem like it'd be too profitable.

It's not hard if you know how to sell, but usually companies don't teach you how to run a business when they hire you to do that sort of job. It's only hard to sell merch because you're going to be selling to say, 30000 people, give or take. Now, you can only sell these people knives once, so once you make the sale you've lost them as a potential customer. Not everyone is going to buy either, so unless you're changing who you're selling to by traveling, it's going to be hard to sell because every sale you make kills the demand a little bit more.
