I have a moving .gif file in my profile pic, so I'm a bit weirded out about the fact you can't.

I have a .gif too, so it should work. Mine's actually supposed to be moving but it's too large. Whatever, .gif works fine for me.

Your profile picture wont show up with your sputnik posts, it will only be in your profile. If you want something to show up with your posts, upload the picture you want as your avatar, which you can find in your user cp.
