Something about that seems pretty wrong. They can't mandate you to go to religious organizations only.

ive given them so much hell i'm pretty much a ward of the state

one of the doctors touched me in a not sexual but totally awkward way the other day and i refused to take a test plus ive had three drunk in public charges over the course of my probation so im pretty much in a position where i either do whatever they say or go to jail

AA is by definition a "spiritual organizaton"

trust me man I had to read that fucking book and hear about it every day in rehab. I can tell you all about the people who founded it.

Yes there are. I've been to them. Not for substance abuse, but for research. The "higher power" can be anything from god, to nature, your family or friends. It is just whatever you think is the most positive thing in your life.

i've read the entire book and been to about 100 meetings. I know exactly how the higher power thing works it's something beyond yourself that you use to help you stay away from drugs or alcohol. It says right in the book multiple times it's a spiritual program. Trust me man I spent two months in rehab and went to one AA meeting a day and even more after i got out. I have the book right here if you want me to show you where it says it's a spiritual program.

EDIT: They also say the Lords prayer at the end of every meeting I've been to. They're are other substance abuse programs that aren't founded around spirituality but AA NA, MA and CA all are. I"ve been to all of them.
