I hope I can find my old spice.

ATM 09-11-2005 04:56 PM

I like spicy food.

Happymeal 09-11-2005 05:22 PM

I like spicy thingies that you rub on your armpits.

"I guess you could call them mainstream even though the average mainstream listener would say they suck and are old."

Hmm. Interesting.

He thinks I don't listen to mainstream music! I'm like the least hip of all the alt/indie regulars (am I really one of those now? Sigh.) but that makes me feel , sort of like when I'm walking around school and see kids with Nirvana and Metallica shirts. That's right, I'm cooler than you because I know the post-punk bands who influenced Nirvana :)

Daniel! 09-11-2005 10:38 PM

Hey Zappa, what would you consider some of the most essential bop albums or artists? The jazz recommendation thread has a few good ones, but I was wondering what you thought.

Same here. I'm far from being a hip indie kid, but I try.

Alright, bed time for me. Take it easy everyone

I want in on that.

It really sucks how I hardly have the time to post anymore. The most time I have is in the morning while I'm waiting for the shower, which is happening presently. :(

br3ad_man 09-12-2005 06:29 AM

So I'm back from my mission trip. Man it was good.

It could be worse.

I'm a terrible artist, and I have art in 23 minutes.

A capella auditions tonight, though!!!

Zmev 09-12-2005 01:15 PM

I have comp apps in like 30 minutes, but I alsohave an abba zabba bar so hooray.

I think I'm gonna have to start a running poll with these.

I don't see what's so bad about that. I can totally relate to letting a band change my life; it just didn't happen to be Tool for me.

You're taking all these from my polls. :(

Glitterati 09-12-2005 04:56 PM

Ah.

Stressful day.

Got into arguement with art teacher.

Might see Robert Plant.

Taking off stress by drinking ginger ale and putting on some Nick Cave.

Iai 09-12-2005 04:59 PM

Okay, I tried. I really tried. But I've just discovered that 5 hours is the longest I can go without coffee.

They sell shirts? I thought they were against things like that... link?

I was going to see Unleashed today but I have a cold so I won't. I hate runny noses, they make your head feel terrible. Hopefully this is gone tomorrow like my sore throat was.

I did it ebay.

I don't think you understand: he claimed that Tool "opened up his mind" and he's pretty much dissing another band with plenty of talent. Pretty standard Tool fanboy hypocrisy. Oh I can't believe I almost got locked into that crazy ol' band! Can't wait to hear what their next album sounds like though.

My week/day: My journalism class started with 30 kids last Wednesday, and now it's down to about 10. Since my school somehow ended up on austerity budget, we have no newspaper or accompanying club (just a quarterly newsletter now), paired with an unenthusiastic journalism class and new teacher. Oh well.

On the plus side, we get free copies of the New York Times everyday to use as textbooks in a sense, so I just end up reading the paper all class. Interesting review of Cripple Crow today.

BillCosby 09-12-2005 06:21 PM

My AP Lit class has 15 people in it. And about four are switching out to a different period. And then on the other hand, in my precalculus class there's about forty something students crammed into a tiny portable.

And our school usually has about 2000 students, but this year we have about 800 incoming freshmen. :/

/sort of related

I've had to take typing in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th grade. And I'm finding out I have to take it in college?

I think I have it by now kthx

/sort of related
APs, I find, are pretty good in small classes. More gets accomplised and you often have more intimate discussions, assuming some of the peopel actually talk. I have quite a few overcrowded classes too. It's impossible to do a lengthy lab in my AP Bio class with so many kids and so little lab space.

With this journalism class though, it seems asif we've been left with the bottom of the barrel to assemble this paper.
