That vaguely looks like his guitar.
what's everyone's favourite John Lennon solo songs?
Working Class Hero, Imagine.

Woodstock 12-20-2004 06:47 PM

Mine would be Imagine, Working Class Hero, Cold Turkey, Mother, and Happy Xmas(War is over).

gmoneyguy 12-20-2004 07:17 PM
I'm going to have to win the cliche award and say Imagine...yeah, everyone says it, but it really is an incredible song..
If it gets you teary its a good song.

I have the feeling I'll be the only one who says this, but... Watching The Wheels. I love that song.

Eris Claptons back, but without blackie

The money went to charity, which makes it a good cause.

And i'm sure he's playing a brand new guitar that sounds better.

thickasabrick 12-20-2004 08:42 PM

i'd have to say my favourite John Lennon song is Imagine. I actually haven't heard a lot of his solo stuff, but that is definitely an amazing song.

he has maple fretboard ones now with custom paintjobs

/knows blackie was maple too

Creedence Clearwater 12-20-2004 08:50 PM

Oh, and thanks rock not roll for the rep now I can have stars soon.

Maybe Eric will play a les paul or SG with cream like last time?

thickasabrick 12-20-2004 08:50 PM

i wonder if he misses blackie.

BludgeonySteve 12-20-2004 08:52 PM

We need to get Creedence and thickasabrick some stars.

I'm sure he misses blackie. But feels good about auctioning it off for charity.

gmoneyguy 12-20-2004 08:53 PM

I did my part.

thickasabrick 12-20-2004 08:54 PM

i finally realized how much rep means to people, so im starting to give points. it keeps telling me i have to spread it around though.

i miss my first guitar and it was a hunk of junk. it was usually a fifty fifty chance of the pickups even working when i turned on the amp, and even then, sometimes the tuners decided not to work.

His SG he used with Cream was awesome, if your talking about the multi-colored one.
His SG he used with Cream was awesome, if your talking about the multi-colored one.
that was a beautiful guitar. what ever happened to it? does he still have it? when i was in my SG-loving stage, i wanted that guitar so badly.

BludgeonySteve 12-20-2004 08:57 PM

Thanks

As for the SG, isnt Jimmy's double neck the most convenanted of all?

My Kramer use to be like that until I got it fixed. It is still pretty messed up, but it's a classic :(. Floyd Rose and everything :p

Yeah I'm pretty much the same way, he's kinda jumping the gun with his solo career.

thickasabrick 12-20-2004 09:03 PM

has anyone here listened to the normal DSOTM cd? and also the Digitally remastered one?

i bought the remastered one today, as a present to myself, and i really didn't notice much different between this one and the original one.

I like JPJ's triple neck with the mandolin at the top.

Badmoon's Bluegrass Lesson of The Day:
----------------------------------------------
The insane guitar styling of Doc Watson could most likely take almost any American guitarist in the first half of the 20th Century.

is he a solo artist? or part of a group? i'm assuming he's some sort of blugrasser (if that's a real term).

BludgeonySteve 12-20-2004 09:08 PM

Probably. I'm not a big pre-rock buff.

Though amercian would rule out a lot of classical and flamenco guitarists :/

Yeah, earlier player. He was one of the players who was playing Bluegrass before it even had a name. Though, he is not even close to one of the earliest.

Robert Johnson? Tommy Johnson? He could take them, I believe they are about a decade before his prime though.
