Every band plays Cortez the Killer :p

Today, I'm listening to Little Feat. They're rarely said to be one of the first Jam Bands, which sucks because they are.

Not every band plays it. I mentioed it because they did a good job on it. I havent heard any Little Feat but I've heard of them.

Your sense of humor sucks. But seriously, most Jam Bands cover it.

lunch998 11-11-2004 06:08 PM

I've been listening to Live at the Closing of Winterland for a few straight days now, because it's so great. While listening to Scarlet Begonias, I realized that Sublime covered that song. Anyone heard it or like Sublime at all? I think the cover is good.

jpj 11-11-2004 06:19 PM

I like Sublime, but I haven't heard that cover.

lunch998 11-11-2004 06:37 PM

I really like Me and My Uncle and Big River now. And Rythm Devils, because Hart+Kreutzman is great.

Broken Arrow 11-11-2004 06:41 PM

RockAndRoll 11-11-2004 09:40 PM

King Crimson is quite good, I haven't heard as much of their stuff as I'd like to though.

BludgeonySteve 11-11-2004 11:12 PM

King Crimson are insane (like, mentally un-stable). Whatever that were on, I want some.

Seafroggys 11-11-2004 11:57 PM

Has ELO ever been discussed here?

~The*Lemon*Song~ 11-12-2004 01:53 AM

Not much, no.

And this is waaaaaaay late, but Uriah Heep does NOT suck :( I would have to say Salisbury is their best album.

King Crimson is awesome, but their old stuff is still the best...I'm not much of a fan of their new material. (as it seems to be with most bands)

ratm_bassist 11-12-2004 03:38 AM
Yep. Then again so is Good Charlotte :(. Some teenagers are more cool than others I guess.
good charlotte = worste band ever
good charlotte = worste band ever
That Post=Worst Post Ever(although I agree that was very n00b of you)

I agree that King Crimsom's later material was better. I'm not sure about discussing ELO I am pretty sure they have been, but I just dont know???

OMG a 530 page thread started by someone with less than a 1000 posts.

IMO as a 15 yr old in a standard high school classic rock is becoming popular amongst the youth but what can I say it's still an MTV Generation. People pretend to be old school by listening to Led Zeppelin and Pink FLoyd (Even when they don't like it) and later they go home boot up their playlist and start listening to Good Charlotte...well what can I say? It's a poser world after all.

God Bless all Classic Rock Fans :thumb:

BludgeonySteve 11-12-2004 11:55 AM

Hehehe, b0nz0 is such a n00b but he made one of the biggest threads on mx.

whole_lotta_zep 11-12-2004 12:55 PM

I'm 15 and i love classic rock. its so great to get away from modern ****. I love led zeppelin so much they rock. ACDC, The Who, Eric Clapton etc. they are all so great and i blame nirvana for finishing classic rock, and for that i hate em. they also started the indie revolution, **** them. but anyway, I just love classic rock, I'm listenin to lynard skynard right now

Rock no people I love you all

TheWhoFan1 11-12-2004 01:19 PM
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6.

so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?

yea i was worried that was just my imagination. o i just discovered a great classic rock band by the name of The Moody Blues. now they are good. check out "Nights in White Satin," "Tuesday Afternoon," "Ride my SeeSaw," and "I'm just a singer (in a rock and roll band)."
"Nights In White Satin" is a great song. John Entwistle and Keith Moon wouldn've been a great addition to that band, but I'm glad they wen't w/ The Who.
