I'm such a fogey, I liked big venues because they aren't so loud.

Fish 06-18-2006 12:33 PM

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 12:36 PM

Ya I LOVE small venues, they are awesome!

PDWAB 06-18-2006 12:36 PM

I'm just really paranoid about damaging my hearing :( I bring earplugs when I go to small venues.

Fish 06-18-2006 12:36 PM

did brian just get admin?
I'm just really paranoid about damaging my hearing :( I bring earplugs when I go to small venues.
Man you are paranoid, that's definetly not a bad thing though. The only time I give protection to my hearing is when I'm playing the drums.

Fish 06-18-2006 12:43 PM

oh yeah, how are the drums going for you?

BridgeToSolace 06-18-2006 12:44 PM

I listen to music way louder than I should (max volume, and I use a volume booster on top of that), I do band practice without ear plugs (and I usually go to around 8 on my 32 wat (or so) amp, and I go to shows without earplugs either. I like to stand near the speakers, because the crowd is thinner there, and you can still stand close.

My hearing is fine.

It won't be if you keep doing that too much longer..
oh yeah, how are the drums going for you?
Great actually, I've been playing for about 4 months and teaching myself and I've gotten okay, and I just started taking lessons last week.

And you've done that for a year? Two years? That stuff doesn't catch up with you until way down the road.

Okay sounds good.
Are you using a metronome at all times? /shakes fist
No, I have a metronome but it doesn't work and I haven't spent money on a new one, I know I need to though.

PDWAB 06-18-2006 12:53 PM
i use my foot :p
Oh god!

Mute Print 06-18-2006 12:53 PM
did brian just get admin?
Hahaha, I'm not an admin, no. Just a local mod.

Fish 06-18-2006 12:55 PM

whew, you could like... take over canada with that kind of power

Gnarmageddon 06-18-2006 12:55 PM

*makes X with arms*

Mute Print 06-18-2006 01:01 PM

Hahaha.

So, I got my dad XM radio for father's day. It's actually pretty cool. There's a punk station, which actually plays real punk, and a metalcore station, which doesn't actually play much real metalcore, but has a ton of breakdowns.

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 01:03 PM

I hate the radio, but XM radio is like regular radio times 1000.

Mute Print 06-18-2006 01:04 PM

Yeah, XM radio is actually really cool.

Normal radio is lame.

PDWAB 06-18-2006 01:04 PM
Hahaha.

Ha, looks like your Dad's getting some real use out of it :p

I only listen to Oldies and Jazz on the radio

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 01:04 PM

Especially normal radio around here, it is awful, complete garbage.

Gnarmageddon 06-18-2006 01:05 PM
Hahaha.

So basically you're gonna use it more than your dad?

My friend told me this joke. He was like "So my cousin got this awesome voice activated satellite radio thing. When you say "punk", it'll play something like the Ramones, and when you say "rap" it'll play something like NWA or Snoop. But the other day, I was in the car with my cousin, and some kids ran out in front of him and he had to slam on the brakes. When they ran off, he said "F'uckin' kids" and the radio started playing Michael Jackson!"

/probably old but still funny

Fish 06-18-2006 01:05 PM

yeah i hate the radio around here

/lol @ spence

Mute Print 06-18-2006 01:05 PM

Hahaha, I don't think I've ever heard that before.

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 01:06 PM

I got my dad a tool set for fathers day. Discount at Target ha.

Mute Print 06-18-2006 01:07 PM

My dad isn't very good at fixing things, or using tools. I usually have to do it.

That would be an easy gift idea if he was though.

Gnarmageddon 06-18-2006 01:08 PM

I got my dad a card and helped him do a bunch of yard work. :upset:

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 01:08 PM

Ya my dad isn't like good at fixing things but he pretends to be, he always does something but makes me help and practicall do it all.

....I don't really like my dad. And it's not like Oh I hate my dad he's lame and gay because he grounds me. I truly dislike the guy.

PDWAB 06-18-2006 01:09 PM

Oh crap today's Father's Day!

DepthsOfDreams555 06-18-2006 01:10 PM

Haha yes, yes it is.

Fish 06-18-2006 01:12 PM
Which is like, totally almost as good.
Yeah, it is.

Well, I'm off to have lunch/dinner at my aunt's, and then I'm going to a show. I'll be back later tonight.

By the way, me suspects Kif will kill himself when he finds out he was passed up as a mod...AGAIN.
