Harrow 05-10-2008 07:13 PM

Creative coordination and advanced foot technique, I really have no interest in this except early today I searched youtube for thomas lang because fishbulb brought up one of his DVD's. I found a video from this DVD and I was shocked because he was playing death metal blast beats using matched grip, I was like WTF HAPPENED?! So yeah I'm curious to see the "new" thomas lang haha.

I have both Creative Coordination and Creative Control but i've only seen the first disc of Control. He is amazing, just watching 5 minutes of that gave me stuff to work on for months.

In Absentia is my favorite along with Deadwing, Fear of a Blank Planet, and Lightbulb Sun.

And if you want other bands that are heavier check out Tool and Opeth.

iamjoe2 05-10-2008 08:58 PM

^^^got several albums by both tool and opeth, great stuff, cant wait for another tool album

fishbulb 05-10-2008 09:19 PM

In celebration of getting my braces off we went to eat ribs and corn on the cob.

'Twas nice.

LoneStarDrummer 05-10-2008 10:05 PM

i could use some ribs and corn on the cob myself.

lmldrummer 05-10-2008 10:22 PM

Berk 05-10-2008 10:35 PM
tbh if you're going to make a bunch of the same design to sell, you should look into cheap screenprinting. would be way easier overall.
What's up, man?!

Your drums sound fantastic, by the way. They played their first show a couple months ago and it went fantastically. 1000+ people, too.

BummerJonny 05-11-2008 01:24 AM

link?

Harrow 05-11-2008 07:15 AM

So I just downloaded the Nerve album with Jojo, I really like the drumming, but I think Rabb plays to this genre so much better.

MeaninglessPhoto 05-11-2008 08:44 AM

sup guys? Sorry I havent been on in a while. Ive been moving and packing for the last 4 days and havent had much time on here.

Have I missed anything?

Fuzzy 05-11-2008 08:50 AM

Where you movin brother? What's up?

what i've heard from rabb sounded really generic for the genre.

I think jojo takes it a step further and adds a lot more to his playing.

Really? I think Rabb's playing is entirely unique, there is no one else that uses dynamics like he does, Jojo is awesome but to me he just sounds like a jazz musician stepping into a new genre.

Jeez, you're moving up in the gigging world. I'm glad they sound that good. Get a 16" tom for them yet? Or are you still keeping it classic with 5-piece?

fishbulb 05-11-2008 10:42 AM

For right now I only have a 5 piece. I'd like to get a 16" tom but i can't justify spending $240 for a single drum.

And by the way, the "show" i played was my school's Talent show and we played for only 5 minutes, but it was awesome nonetheless.

What kinda kit you have again? $240 for a floor does not seem that bad...retail on the 16x16 I just got was 1200.08. But I don't have to pay retail.....

Little Android Man 05-11-2008 10:47 AM

he's got a pdp fxr or something.

fishbulb 05-11-2008 10:48 AM

PDP MX that i got used from drummguy.

Remember that i'm a teenager without a job so money is a not in abundance for me.

It also doesn't help that they're discontinued now. =( I'm glad that massmusic still sells them though.

Janeway 05-11-2008 11:34 AM

My mom left to go get food and hour and a half ago and she's still not back.

I hate being at my grandparents house. Everything is left over from the 50's and suited for people under five and a half feet tall.

drummguy731 05-11-2008 11:44 AM

Hahaha, that really sucks Janeway. And fishbulb, you are not the only person unemployed and broke.

Win A Rabbit 05-11-2008 12:25 PM

lawl my friend bought a brand new car today, and is taking a loan out from his grandma (loaded). so his grandma wrote him a cheque for $31,000. he brings it to the dealership, and the guy goes "umm the car is $31,006.15" and made my friend give him $6.15 in change.

Berk 05-11-2008 12:28 PM

this makes no sense. Its mothersday, my mom was showered with gifts but she still somehow is a major bitch. Even more bitchier than normal
