Do you have anything by Scientist?

Zmev 02-21-2006 07:26 PM

I'm organizing my cds now, but I just bought In My Tribe by 10,000 Maniacs.

Zebra 02-21-2006 07:39 PM

Blackalicious - Nia
Cake - Fashion Nugget
Beck - Mellow Gold

Zmev 02-21-2006 07:58 PM

Well that only took half an hour

Zappa 02-21-2006 08:09 PM
Do you have anything by Scientist?
No.

ATM 02-21-2006 08:40 PM

I never realized how great Surfer Rosa is until the past couple days.

Zmev 02-21-2006 08:41 PM

Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker

Pretty good so far

ATM 02-21-2006 08:43 PM

Get Love is Hell next.

Little Man being Erased 02-21-2006 08:49 PM
Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker

Good work.

I don't think you should get Love is Hell next though. It's good, but I think you'd be better off with Gold or maybe Cold Roses.

Dig:
Hot Snakes - Automatic Midnight
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights

Iai 02-21-2006 08:56 PM

Slick Rick, bitch.

Little Man being Erased 02-22-2006 03:13 PM

Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker
The Drones - Wait Long by the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By
Common - Be

I haven't listened to Be all that much, but I discovered, on this listen, that it is most excellent.

Bartender 02-22-2006 04:20 PM

This thing on BBC2 - The Armstrongs - seems to be using lots of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack as incidental music. So I'm kind of being suckered into liking it without even knowing what it is.

Little Man being Erased 02-22-2006 07:36 PM

Elvis Costello - My Aim is True
Interpol - Antics

Daniel! 02-22-2006 10:27 PM
No.
You need some. Scientist Rids the World... is essential listening.

Luxor 02-22-2006 10:30 PM

Lightning Bolt
Off Minor
The Khayembii Communique
Curl Up And Die
Elliott Smith

YDload 02-22-2006 10:44 PM
Akufen - My Way

Too good to be real. This is the first "microsampling" or whatever album that I've heard, so this is pretty damn impressive.
Sounds interesting. By the way, "damn" isn't filtered now.

Anyway, I think Surfer Rosa is a little better than Doolittle. But it's all good.

(old news)

pixiesfanyo 02-22-2006 10:58 PM

Surfer Rosa is the king of albums.

I'm listening to Sabbath.

WAR PIGS HAVE THE POWEEERRRRR

Daniel! 02-22-2006 11:00 PM

Mischief Brew - Smash the Windows
Mischief Brew - Bakenal
Mischief Brew - Some live show I got from the archive
Erik Petersen - Mirth
Erik Petersen - Live at the Punx Picnic in Baltimore
Erik Petersen/Robert Blake - Bellingham and Philidelphia

Last night I also spent 3 hours reading Watchmen and listening to Mission of Burma - ONoffON.

asymm 02-22-2006 11:03 PM
Liars - Drum's Not Dead

still working on whether this is good or not.
Aaah, I like this record. It's got some very nice things going for it, experiments enough (for the Liars even) but maintains enough elements of pop that makes you come back to it.

Chapterhouse - Whirlpool
My LP arrived from Italy today (cheap price, actually) - very jazzed about that
Supersilent - 7

BillCosby 02-22-2006 11:10 PM

The Good Life - Black Out

<3 tim kasher

That's a decent cd.

I like Album of the Year for it's diversity though.

br3ad_man 02-23-2006 02:42 AM

Prince - Purple Rain
Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy

Zmev 02-23-2006 02:49 AM

Morcheeba - Charango

Little Man being Erased 02-23-2006 03:31 AM

Johnny Cash - The Essential Johnny Cash
The Drones - Wait Long by the River...
The Decemberists - Picaresque

and now
Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People

Little Man being Erased 02-23-2006 04:55 AM

Damn. Why have I not heard the Zombies before now?

Fucking awesome.

Bukowski 02-23-2006 05:02 AM

Meat Puppets - II
Saccharine Trust - We Became Snakes

We Became Snakes is the coolest album ever made, and Drugstore Logic is the coolest song ever made.

Lots of people seem tobe diggin' that album by the Drones, i'm gonna listen to it and see what the hype is about. It betta be good.

pixiesfanyo 02-23-2006 05:31 AM

Mylo - Destroy Rock & Roll
(Kind of a blend of Daft Punk/Boards of Canada and Air, some pretty decent electronica)

Jdilla - Donut
(A DJs tribute to soul I guess? Probably my second favorite release of '06 after Kayo Dot's new one.)

BJ_maddog 02-23-2006 05:44 AM

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou soundtrack.

Also, I'm waiting for the new Augie March album...
Here's a taste :http://antz.bur.st/random/AugieMarch-OneCrowdedHour.mp3
