You guys never listened when I recommended Helstar WAY back when? Shame on you.
I don't post here much, (not at all really) but have been getting into thrash lately. I got Holocausto's Campo De Exterminio, it's great, what else should I get by them?
Go for the follow-up to that album, Blocked Minds. If you're into technical stuff, try out Negatives.

RavenousMetalist87 10-22-2005 10:21 AM

Ryan is feeling neglected :upset:

If it wasn't for Ryan's umm...Heroes of Thrash threads, I wouldn't have learned about Mekong Delta or Festering Sore.

w00t!

Terrorzone 10-22-2005 10:29 AM

I think I'm going to have to carve Meklong Delta in my arm, because I always forget to buy one of their cds. But I did just get Metal Church-The Dark

Np:Morbid Angel-Thy Kingdom Come

RCA 10-22-2005 11:19 AM

Speaking of my Heroes Of Thrash threads, I may have to bring that series into the underground for a while. :(

Depending on how WAY back, I probably wasn't around to see the recommendation. Unfortunate, because I wish I had known about them earlier. They're great. :)

Yeah, this happened at least a year ago.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 01:17 PM

I downloaded Cannibal Corpse's 1989 demo, because I heard it was thrash and well..... it's hardly death metal. Raw Thrash all the way. Barnes sounds like Don Doty most of the time

oh yes, I also found Razors's Shotgun Justice it's pretty great

NP: Razor - Miami

RetiredAt21 10-22-2005 01:43 PM

What's their demo called? I'd like to hear it.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 02:46 PM

It's self titled, but somtimes you'll see it under the name A Skull Full Of Maggots

I havent heard it but I do have their 1990 album Eaten Back to Life which has I think 4 of the same songs as the demo. I agree that it isn't death metal. I definetly recommend Eaten Back to Life to anyone who wants some good raw thrash.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 03:14 PM

Eaten Back to Life is actually some pretty good Death/Thrash, too bad Barnes's vocals blow a goat and he isn't like he was on the demo

Hey does some one have Open Hostility? I can't seem to find it anywhere

RCA 10-22-2005 05:40 PM

The band Barnes was in before Cannibal Corpse was better.

I have Open Hostility. :p

Which band are you talking about? There's Tirant Sin and Leviathan, I have both of thier demos, and both remind me of early Dark Angel.

Ahhhh!!! I need to get Open Hostility from you

Ah, I meant bands, sorry. Both of them are good.

If you want it, hop on Soulseek.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 06:03 PM

Lame. I can't browse anyone, I hate Soulseek sometimes

Damn. Well, search the thrash room for it; somebody is bound to have it.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 06:10 PM

I am, absolutley no one has it.

Triumph of Death 10-22-2005 06:14 PM

If you're from Sactown, does that mean you live in a giant scrotum?

RCA 10-22-2005 06:16 PM
If you're from Sactown, does that mean you live in a giant scrotum?
It definitely does.

This Psychic Possessor I'm listening to kicks ass. Small Brazilian death/thrash bands never cease to amaze me.

Triumph of Death 10-22-2005 06:18 PM

Or maybe it just means everybody living there is a walking scrotum.

RCA 10-22-2005 06:20 PM
Or maybe it just means everybody living there is a walking scrotum.
Maybe.

No more trashing the thread, as this is the only sane thread left in all of MX.

Terrorzone 10-22-2005 06:41 PM

Yeah, this and the death heads thread are the only places that I ever go to.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 07:08 PM

I live in Sacramento, the capital of California, but everyone just calls it Sactown, because it sucks.

Anyway, I'm writing the thrashiest thrash song ever. Take that Dark Angel. I have about 17 riffs so far :)

ohhhhh, 1,100 posts. I'm getting up there .....Not really

RCA 10-22-2005 07:10 PM

Make sure it sounds like a song, and not just those 17 riffs of yours strung together. :thumb:

FatalEnergy 10-22-2005 07:11 PM

I've got a pretty good, solid chorus that helps everything keep everything in shape and an uber monster of a thrash break. Dang, I rule

I would if I had a band

I've got it all on Guitar Pro, so it sounds a bit cheesy, but it's still awesome

Ah, I see. Well, when it's done, YSI the file to me so I can have a listen. :thumb:

Metallion#666 10-22-2005 07:45 PM
