You know if a guy with a Centurion picks out a girl from a bar and hires her to be his gf, she gotta be packing at least an 8/10.
|
Lmao yeah okay spiff, cause your band has such high production standards based on past releases
And besides it would just be a rough 1 hour mix to see if your tracking has shit show of sounding decent.
What does that have to do with anything? Sorry that we don't want some anonymous guy on the internet who makes claims about his production skills but never shows them off and already doesn't like our music to try and mix the music we've busted our asses on for the last several months. Show us some samples of stuff you've mixed and maybe. Otherwise, you haven't made any sort of convincing case for yourself. |
LOL when have I ever made claims about my production skills? Honestly. Prove it. Just cause I critique other people production does not mean I am saying I could do any better. I have my strengths, but I have a lot of weaknesses too
Plus, I'm about as self-deprecating as they come. Since when do I have to prove myself to you, or prove some sort of imaginary case to have the privilege to mix one of your tracks? Dude come down, it's just music. It was such an obviously blasé post, yet you overreact like it's some sort of life or death situation. You're obviously just very insecure about your material and don't want anyone hearing it 'unmixed' and are afraid I'll post it here to make fun of you. Tempting, but no I'm not an ass hole tyvm. |
Yeah man, I'm real mad. Grr.
You're the one asking to hear and mix our music, so you should be able to prove that you have the ability to do so before I send you my music to work on. I'm really not insecure about the material at all, I'm so fucking proud of it that I'd rather have people wait a little bit longer to hear it when it's mixed and sounding its best than now when it's not quite ready. |
It was just an amusing thought that I had.
Like, all animosity between aside us, imagine if I did give it a quick mix and we all learnt something in the process. But nooooo you have to get all self righteous on me and ruin my fun. |
I absolutely do. It's what I live for.
Maybe I'll record some stuff on my own computer at home and give it to you to mix. For this, though, no one in the band is going to agree to giving you the raw tracks to mix. That's not an attack on you or your abilities, it's just fact. |
Musicians, they're all the fucking same. Always looking a gift horse in the friggin' mouth.
There's this awesome sandwich shop in Toronto that I've discovered recently. It's called Sky Blue Sky. It's just this small independent shop, but it's the best sandwich shop I've ever been to.
I hear California Sandwiches (in Little Italy) is legend. |
I hear California Sandwiches (in Little Italy) is legend.
I've heard of it, but I've never been there. Perhaps I'll check it out at some point. So, you wanna come to my place and play music sometime or what? Probably not? That's okay. Invitation is there, though. |
Musicians, they're all the fucking same. Always looking a gift horse in the friggin' mouth.
Don't take it as an offensive gesture, it's just how she goes. |
No honestly I'm being serious. Since the dawn of the home studio being so cheap to get up and running, all musicians take someone mixing their song for free for granted. Jesus christ I'm just trying to have some fun spiff.
I mean what do you have to lose, you send me the raws, I check them out, maybe edit them up if I can be fucked (the toms at the very least may be strip silenced) I do some lazy man EQ and compression, maybe some reverbs and send it back to you and you only. You get a realistic idea of how it's gonna turn out. I get some practice mixing what is probably a poorly tracked song. (No offence, most people suck at tracking, it's a fact of life, even I suck at tracking some things and this is supposed to be my thing lol). Cause I know for a fact no one in your band has a clue how to do even a rough mix, cause your last album sounded like arse. Again, not that I have a clue, but there's different levels of suckage you know. |
The mixer of the last album also says that the mix was pretty bad so you're not alone in saying that.
I don't have the raw files nor do I have access to them, so that's about all I can say. |

Only an 8/10? The dude does recruiting and hiring of women to HAVE SEX WITH HIM. She's much more than an 8, and probably has to be amazing in bed.
I hear California Sandwiches (in Little Italy) is legend.
Do you think they can mail me a sandwich? It sounds so good right now. I stupidly decided to try a nutritious, 1100 cal (or less) diet for this week, and it's only day one. I'm broke and really wishing I could have a tasty, wholesome submarine sandwich right now. Joel, for realz, though. Do you have any examples of stuff you've mixed? I'm kind of curious now. You can email them to me bassplayer420@cheatcc.com |
well if its of any consequence now she was not like this back then really

I dunno, it's probably more to do with this is the kind of guy who has to pay women to be with him, so he only has the kind of girl that is willing to be a prostitute and live with two other prostitutes at the same time, to pick from. I doubt she'd come across as a particularly worthwhile person, and the guy, obviously rich, but obviously a tool in several ways. Like Chef says, you don't pay hookers for sex, you pay them not to stick around afterwards. But this guy, he pays them to stick around all the time. So, what the fuck. |

The dude is not just rolling in money, he can buy all of the hookers that he'd like. He's like John Travolta in Swordfish rich. He's probably a total tool, but women are attracted to money, and there are plenty of 10's out there that wouldn't even require the second date to jump all over the opportunity. |
to be quite honest here
if you dont like mix while you track then your band probably sucks |
like who the fuck just tracks and then is all like "ok well who knows if it sounds good lets come back later" lol

It's worth worrying if something sounds bad straight after you did it. |

Lol. Who cares about anything other than a girl's physical attributes? |

But if I'm happy with a mix I've been doing today I may send it your way with a NDA :p. It's an indie pop/rock song cleverly crafted about a pedophile. |

I won't lie, sometimes I wish I was stupid. Not like, Rainman, but just a little less in tune. |
I were stupid, present perfect tense.
