Yeah, basically. :p

I just downloaded it yesterday, so I haven't gotten tired of it or anything yet.
Have you checked out their other stuff as well?

The newest one, Life Beyond. It's pretty good, but it doesn't touch Riders of Doom.

Terrorzone 10-16-2005 06:52 PM

Does anyone know how I can open the Sauron or Energetic Krusher files. They won't come up on I-Tunes or Media Player.
If I get a chance I'll upload "Have a Good Time" by Soothsayer
Good album, but if you haven't heard it yet, I suggest you track down their To Be A Real Terrorist demo. Intense thrash to the max!!

Yeah, I have that demo also, it really is intense stuff. Apparently they released another demo in 1991. I've spent like a year trying to track it down, but still have had no luck

whatduffhuck7 10-17-2005 06:44 PM

listening to death angel- the art of dying, and i must say, pretty good stuff. one of the songs sounds alot like anthrax.

MAthiAS 10-17-2005 07:21 PM

Lol, everything of theirs sounds like Anthrax.

Terrorzone 10-17-2005 07:32 PM

Prophecy is a good song. Thats about it after The Ultra-Violence.

FatalEnergy 10-17-2005 08:23 PM

I still find Death Angel to be the most AVERAGE thrash band ever. Everything by them seems really generic and like it has already been done 67806595695 times before, but better.

MAthiAS 10-17-2005 08:25 PM

Ultra Violence is good, Act III's got two or three good songs, outside of that yeah I agree.

In comparison with most bands, yeah they're not that great.

How would you compare them to someone, oh say, Testament?

Griffin_Page 10-17-2005 09:08 PM

Yay I'm gonna go see Vader again in November.. with Dew-Scented and Decapitated, two bands i have yet to hear. No Kreator this time :(, but thats okay because Vader fucking rule live too.

Hows the thread been?

FatalEnergy 10-17-2005 09:19 PM
How would you compare them to someone, oh say, Testament?
I have a soft spot for Testament, because they introduced me into the lesser known thrash of the world. Even though they were labeled as "wiffle-thrash" or whatever, they still sounded different than everyone else. Everyone says they are Metallica ripoffs too, which is really not even a close comparison at all. Metallica ripoffs?......my ass. New Testament blows though, they haven't been great since Skolnick left. I'm one of the few people that like "The Ritual" and there is a few decent songs on Low.
How would you compare them to someone, oh say, Testament?
I suppose they both carry the 'average' Thrash band label. Testament are still better in my opinion and have always had far superior musicians.

I'd probably listen to Demonic over Act III. Well, maybe not.

I'd certainly listen to The Ultra-Violence over The New Order.

As far as the other albums both bands have but out, I think Testament would probably win that battle.

The Ultra-Violence > The New Order > The Legacy > Practice What You Preach > Low > The Art Of Dying > Souls Of Black > Frolic In The Park > The Ritual > The Gathering > Act III > Demonic.

MAthiAS 10-17-2005 09:27 PM

I don't know... I guess Testament are better than Death Angel, better vocals and better guitar solos, though I don't really think their riffs are anything special.

Every song on The New Order sounds the same to me too. Disciples of the Watch is great though.

Freezing Moon 10-17-2005 09:36 PM

I've heard Act III, and I thought it very mediocre at best.

I wanted to go see that show but alas, I got busy and now I'm unwilling to squeeze it in because I have no money...it's all going towards the new Fireball Ministry and Destruction albums...and maybe something else if I'm impressed.

As for the Testament post I asked...wow. I never expected such responses. Personally, I like Testament.

They may not be thrash, but I guess...in a way, they do earn their ground of staying true to metal?

Compared to Metallica, that is. :smash:

FatalEnergy 10-17-2005 09:49 PM

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I'm Going To Miss Anthrax And Priest!!!!

I envy you.

I will make the effort to see Destruction though.

RavenousMetalist87 10-17-2005 10:27 PM

Forward March is a cool song, but I have to agree to whoever felt that Zetro raps in the song, it is true.

I can just see him dressed up in a giant Raiders jersey and baggy pants with a ton of bling and a had turned backwards, rapping with the rest of the band.

ThrashMaster27 10-17-2005 10:36 PM

Haha, I never even considered it till just now.

Especially during the "well I’ve got some news for you, you motherf*cker There’s a new man in town who isn’t Any sucker, so if you don’t back down, I’ll put my bat to an Angry motherf*cker such as yourself"

There should be a lowrider in the background.

playguitar 10-17-2005 10:57 PM

I love Testament's first two albums. Skolnick=God. Seeing him live was amazing.

Lyke Oh Mah Gawd Guys, I Lyke Changed Mah Lyke Avatar And Lyke Stuff.

It rules, does it not? It was time for a change

no where near as good as mine :p ;)

Testament and Death Angel are both overated and both are very average bands.

Yeh Death Angel and Anthrax are very close in sound IMO. Anthrax be better though;)

Terrorzone 10-18-2005 01:23 PM

I just missed Exodus last night. Damn school. But a couple of my friends went and they said they played stuff from TOTD,SHKM and BBB. Bastards. But I just got Extreme Hatred by Hypnosia. Its right up there with Spectrum of Death.

RCA 10-18-2005 05:54 PM

Their Violent Intensity EP is worth a listen too.

ThrashMaster27 10-18-2005 05:55 PM

I did have Extreme Hatred ages ago. Infact I think I was the first one to recommend it. That happens very little around here. Usually someone (Ghey Ryan) beats me to it :p

Now, ladies. I'm either uploading Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican or Crumbsuckers - Life Of Dreams to the mailing list this week. Just saying ahead of time so nobody does the same ones.
