do u have 1 or 2 bass drums?
If he's using a double pedal, why would he have two bass drums?
do u have 1 or 2 bass drums?
i only put my double kick on when i need it,other wise its off,i hate double kick, its cheating,i only have it on like 20% of the time, other than thaqt its single and that would answer if i have 1 or 2 bass drums

thelittledrummerboy 03-23-2005 10:44 PM

I only have a single kick but it's ****ed so i thought that if i was to get a new one i might as well get a double kick, I don't fancy them all that much but there fun to play and a good skill to have. What sort do you guys have?

vashts80 03-23-2005 11:28 PM

Double kick is cheating? Well, I'll be ****ed.

Can one explain how double kick is "cheating"?

larsROCKS 03-24-2005 03:57 AM

ok every one does any one know when metallica is touring australia next??

larsROCKS 03-24-2005 04:00 AM

double kiking isnt cheating as long as you play it well. theres nothing worse than dble kiking then it isnt needed. i have a iron cobra double kick, if your going to buy one dont waste money on a cheap one it will make it harder to learn, just get a half decent one

LarsAgi007 03-24-2005 04:09 AM

I couldn't agree with you more, a cheap one is, as i say cheap, but it will be a matter of weeks before your trying to sell it so you can get a better one lol

p.s, i am losing the poll to steerpike??? lol, His jokes are classic, you saw them in the musical jokes thread?

Six Foot Revolver 03-24-2005 05:47 AM

I don't even know what double kicking is :upset:

true that.

I wonder what Metallica are doing now...? Maybe, swimming in their pools of cash? Or still goldplating their property?
I wonder what Metallica are doing now...? Maybe, swimming in their pools of cash? Or still goldplating their property?
Perhaps so. They have the money to do it, unlike you.

Bit of jealousy eh?

Oh yeah, definitely. My friends and I are starving all over the world, and barely have enough clothes to cover ourselves.

But oh well, keep waiting for 'St Anger 2', fellow Selloutallica fans!

Yeah, cause I really like Metallica after the Black Album. So they have loads of money, big ****ing deal. So do many people who don't deserve it. Why don't you think of something constructive to say or just **** off.

you mean what metallica "is" doing now? they're recording

Thor 03-24-2005 09:00 AM

I think after St. Anger came out, Metallica hopefully realized that this isnt the kind of music that their die hard fans want them playing. They want the good old metal from the 80s, not the modern age crap rock from the 90s.

Thor 03-24-2005 09:43 AM

Yeah, they were never really one to follow the crowd, at least back in the 80s. They were actually controversial back then.

KILO5203 03-24-2005 10:08 AM

It would be cool if they went back to the old stuff, but I'm not all that worried about how it's gonna be. I'll probably like it, 'cuz I've liked all the others.

Thrash_The_Sabbath 03-24-2005 12:47 PM

I think they should do one of two things...give us another Black Album or give us another Master of Puppets. Just go back to your roots and give the public what they want

Six Foot Revolver 03-24-2005 12:49 PM

I wouldn't mind if they came out with something entirely new to be honest

That would be nice but even in the 80's they were pushing forward and developing new sounds, i wouldnt even consider MOP or RTL pure thrash, just good heavy metal records

cobainus 03-24-2005 02:42 PM

hey yall just joined the site, saw the metallica thread and knew this was the place to be. but ya about what you said, all metallicans out there want another black album or mop (and personally i want another rtl) but after all metallicas been through, with hetfield in rehab and other stuff (if youve seen some kind of monster you know what i mean) do you guys really think they still got what it takes to come up with another legendary album? cause from the sound of st. anger, theyre losing their touch. im not saying that st. anger sucked, but for a band as awesome as metallica, its nowhere near as good talentwise and lyricwise as some of their other albums.

Joe 03-24-2005 03:45 PM

wow great first post noob :thumb:

and i think it is very possible. i think the bass is what changed them. did anyone else noticed that when they changed bassists the music changed ( i know bob rock too, but we'll see). In SKOM, they were talking about how much rob is like cliff and i'm really hoping this will lead to a classic metallica album like KEA, RTL, MOP.

i'd be perfectly happy with an AJFA or a Black Album. i don't know how other people think, but i really like those albums. it's not the classic metallica, but they're chock full of excellent songs

Josh 03-24-2005 04:10 PM

hopefully it will lead towards the older style of metallica, but not exactly the same as the classic albums (MOP, ...AJFA, RTL), as another album like that wouldnt live up to the old ones. and remember, metallica are quite a bit older than when they wrote those classic albums, they've been through a lot - but they have more experiences to influence their writing now, so just wait and see what they come out with. are they in the studio at the moment?

maybe not now, at 5:23 USA Eastern, but they are recording stuff currently this year

Josh 03-24-2005 04:24 PM

ah ok - its 10:24pm here in the UK. so the album should be due at the end of this year / early next year?

Joe 03-24-2005 04:31 PM

probably end of this year. i guess it depends on if they just started material or if they had some before they went into studios. st anger took 2 yrs (but includin rehab too)
