Just for the record I was joking, Tool are possibly the greatest band around today if not the greatest band ever. The fact that they release a CD every 5 or whatever years makes there music that much better, you know not a thing has been rushed on the CD and they have just used there time to make it amazing. Also it means you get a big wait so when you get the CD it's just that much better, it's like heroin in CD form.

Good joke.
|
Wasn't really a joke I just wanted to see the responce, wasn't as hostile as I had hoped.
|
haha beneath me everyone i know everything about tool and no im not going to answer your stupid question to prove, and dont respond "because you cant answer them"
|
I'll try harder next time, sorry.
You'll find here that were not like typical Tool fanboys (if you can call us that). We all just love Tool, but we all see their faults. If you were on like the bored at Tool shed or something, then you'd get a hostile responce. |
Maynard doesn't write all the songs for Tool. He helps out with them.
I would love to see one article/interview where it says otherwise. |
Apology accepted, I think we have all learnt a valuable lesson
|
Maynard doesn't write all the songs for Tool. He helps out with them.
Wasn't really a joke I just wanted to see the responce, wasn't as hostile as I had hoped.
yeah get to know people in here first, we are all pretty cool (except there is a few regulars i dont fancy, but they probably think im a retard too so its all good) we are not gonna try to kill you if you say tool sucks (maybe i will) but as Darkness said we are much better with people than the heavy tool fanboys.
exactly adam jones, justin chancellor and danny carry are tool, maynard just provides vocals at least someone understands
He also helps with some songs like I said. But alot of the times it's weird instruments he works with. |
haha beneath me everyone i know everything about tool and no im not going to answer your stupid question to prove, and dont respond "because you cant answer them"
because you cant answer them Sorry, couldn't help myself. I sure wish Tool gave us more to talk about. |
so umm tool4life?!
|
What instruments, troll?
|
because you cant answer them
Sorry, couldn't help myself. I sure wish Tool gave us more to talk about.
Their isn't another band with as many questions surronding them as Tool does, my friend. |
Their isn't another band with as many questions surronding them as Tool does, my friend.
Now subtract all the ones this thread has been over. |

...and you get -120320 |
Tonight, I had pancakes for supper. Boy, were they yummy.
|
tool is mysterious, but thats the reason i like them. i read a few interviews with adam jones and maynard james keenan and i like their philosphy/their view of the world.
i have no problem that tool don't give interviews. the music is more important. the music speaks for themselves.
link? whats their philosphy |
...and you get -120320
:upset: yes... |
Hey Kage, you're always mentioning all of the Christian allusions and symbology throughout Lateralus. Care to enlighten us? :)
|
I am?
|
He is?
|
He did.
|
I does?
|
What instruments, troll?
Not sure exactly which ones. But I'm pretty sure if I knew what they were, I still wouldn't have KNOWN what they were. Because alot of people say they are very... exotic? They're just weird :thumb: I've heard Lateralus being about the Noahs Ark story. |
I am?
It was you, I'm pretty sure. Well, someone has mentioned how much Christian symbology there is throughout the album. |

Spiritual? Yes Christian? I'm not seeing it. |
Their may be a little bit, The Grudge teaches forgiveness, Parabola about life being a holy experience... and thats all I got...

None of those are singularly "Christian" beliefs. If anything, I feel their philosophies are more Eastern and Occult based. |
I agree with the person that said they are Spiritual.
Alot of religions basically focus on being a "good" person. So it's kinda hard to decide which religion to classify it as. |
Well guys I'm glad to say that this is a great thread for Tool. I normally hang out in the videogames forums, everyone there is an absolute asshole(especially Zakath), it surprises me there is such a kind, understanding thread on MX
|
Christian beliefs have a lot to do with being a good person, and I think Lateralus is all about how to be one. I'm not saying Lateralus is christian, but there could be a connection.

I don't know why that just made me laugh. |
Well I don't want to spam up your thread but Zakath is an absolute douche, I'm pretty sure he has conversations with his mum about the things people say on MX.

Of course Christianity does, but then again, so does Buddhism, Judaism, Tao, Confuscianism, Islam, I Ching, Hinduism, Shinto, Rastafarianism, Atheism, Sikh,.... |
Actually Justin Timberlake is a really good vocalist. He just makes Shit music.
|
Their may be a little bit, The Grudge teaches forgiveness, Parabola about life being a holy experience... and thats all I got...
The Grudge is probably the last thing I'd relate to Christianity, actually. :p All of the allusions to Roman gods make it sound to me like something a Pagan would write, as that type of religion really carries quite an influence from Greek and Roman mythology. |
Of course Christianity does, but then again, so does Buddhism, Judaism, Tao, Confuscianism, Islam, I Ching, Hinduism, Shinto, Rastafarianism, Atheism, Sikh,....
Yeah I know, I was just saying that because other religions believe in being a good person, doesn't meen Maynard absolutly cannot be referencing Christianity in Lateralus. |
Of course Christianity does, but then again, so does Buddhism, Judaism, Tao, Confuscianism, Islam, I Ching, Hinduism, Shinto, Rastafarianism, Atheism, Sikh,....
That's what I said... |
Actually Justin Timberlake is a really good vocalist. He just makes Shit music.
Does he even make the music? Or does some industry phool just put the words in his hand? |
