Dimmer - There My Dear
Hendrix - Electric ladyland Voom |
I'm digging any Nick Cave I can find.
He's so cool. |
I guess all that I've been digging today is stuff that my band has learned, or is potentially learning.
That means estradasphere, Gravity, Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Uz Jsme Doma... but only one or two songs. |
Mission of Burma- Vs.
pretty good music, but the vocals are kind of annoying. too britishy for an american band  |
I still don't know why Vs. has the status it does.
|
The Knife - Silent Shout
This album just gets better and better. One of the best from this year. |
Glenn Branca - The Ascension, Lesson No.1, and Symphony No. 1: Tonal Plexus
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra Cocteau Twins - Treasure Funkadelic - Maggot Brain Frank Zappa - Hot Rats Regina Spektor Begin to Hope Bedouin Soundclash - Sounding a Mosaic That's about it right now. |
Definitely! My initial reactions were very poor as well - then I re-listened about a month later and it all clicked. I'm very glad that I gave Silent Shout another chance.
|
I need to listen to a grower. I'll check it out.
|
yeah silent shout is a very good album. it's really really cool when you are walking at night
& i've been digging i heart hiroshima and both of matthew friedbergers albums |
I'm digging any Nick Cave I can find.
He's so cool.
Me too. I'm even reading his novel And the *** Saw the Angel. |
i heart hiroshima
Yeah, boooyeee. Wire - 154 Wire - Pink Flag Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain Thom Yorke - The Eraser The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow Prince - Purple Rain Man, The Eraser is so damn good. I friggin' love it. |
I'm finally seeing IHH on Sunday. With Sekiden and Iron On. Should be a sweet show.
|
i almost saw them at that all ages show with the grates but i didn't. :(
|
:(
The Grates are so awesome live too. |
Yeah, good work bread. And The Grates are definitely awesome fun live, if but a little sickly sweet.
|
Trophy Scars - Alphabet. Alphabets.
Even though I should hate it, it's wicked sweetness. |
XTC - Drums and Wires
Richard Hell & The Voidoids - Blank Generation The Pop Group - Y Blank Generation seems to be my favorite album at the moment. |
I've been loving Blank Generation too.
|
Two Gallants - The Throes
I forgot how good this album is. |
Big Black - The Hammer Party
|
Elvis Presley - Classic Elvis
Thom Yorke - The Eraser Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - A Night In Tunisia The Knife - Silent Shout |
Enjoyable seeing the Silent Shout diggage. It's sublime.
Sun Kil Moon - Tiny Cities |
I still don't know why Vs. has the status it does.
NPC wouldn't shut up about it. Anyway my C drive is apparently running out of space, so I might have to delete most of the Mission of Burma songs if I want to check out more great 75-84 albums. |
Elvis!
The King
Enjoyable seeing the Silent Shout diggage. It's sublime. Sun Kil Moon - Tiny Cities
It's my first listen of the record. The first couple of songs put me off slightly but it's a great record. 'Like A Pen' is one of my favourite songs off it so far. |
Piebald
Hey Mercedes Braid Minus The Bear Job For A Cowboy |
Mission of Burma- Vs.
pretty good music, but the vocals are kind of annoying. too britishy for an american band
That's an amazing album but I prefer Signals, Calls and Marches. |
Against Me! - Americans Abroad! Live!
It's okay. Too much like a studio album. |
The Cranberries
Mogwai Built to Spill M. Ward |
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
The Smiths - The Smiths |
TV on the Radio - Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes
I'm liking this a lot more now. But it's still not that awesome. I might have to check out their new stuff. Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On I only picked it up this morning (for $5 too), but I like it a lot so far. What a deal. |
I might have to check out their new stuff.
yes. yes you do. |
Yeah I think I know someone who has the new one so I might rip it off them.

Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On I only picked it up this morning (for $5 too), but I like it a lot so far. What a deal.
I got mine for $1. But it didn't have a booklet, so you win. I'll probably rebuy it sometime because it's that good. I got three Beastie Boys cds for $9 today. |
adelaide needs used/independent CD stores..we have like none
|
That was new, so I win twice.
|
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Awesome x2 |
I might have to check out their new stuff.
I'd just like to add my name to the list of people who encourage you to do this.
As for myself, I'm diggin' the new Tom Petty album. This is really the year of the surprisingly good solo album, between this, Thom, and David Gilmour. Are there more that I'm forgetting? |
The Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia
Not bad. Had low expectations for some reason. Jorge Ben - Negro É Lindo Jorge Ben - Africa Brazil Jorge Ben - Ben Gilberto Gil - S/T |
went back to Hank Williams III's Straight To Hell. This is about as good as country gets.
Yesterday I dug Patti Smith's Easter and Fear Of Music by Talking Heads. Pretty underrated 'Heads album, I think. |
