Bastard. I'm surprised this is news to so many people actually. I thought everyone knew by now.

Steerpike 01-30-2006 11:09 PM
By the way, how did your movie debut thing turn out, if I can ask without registering something on the Richter scale? Were you able to recover your movie?
We did the best we could with what he had. The reception was generally positive. I'll post some pics from the Q&A session tomorrow. There's one funny bit where someone snapped a picture as I was responding to a question about why there was a particular video error (explaining what had happened to our final cut) and the look on my face makes it seem like someone just asked me to sign something really awkward.

Lately, my finger has been pretty far from the pulse of MX. When did it become official?

Your finger has been pretty far from a few of us, as well.

Things are going good?

Technically, we aren't officially "going at it", nor are we "going at it" at all really. Over the past year we've been talking more and more, and things progressed over a small private board for us Children of Bodom fanboys. It escalated into talking over the phone and as well as sending each other gifts for any reason we could find. Now I spend hours every day talking to her, much to the dismay of my parents' phone bill. I just wish we didn't live on opposite sides of the country. Luckily I'll get to see her when I visit colleges this summer.

I suppose you could say we've been "going at it" for nearly 8 months now.

Riva 01-30-2006 11:17 PM

OMG I LOVE CHUCK NORRIS TOO BUT LETS STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM

So I'm going to work soon. Apparently a new service manager has started, and she's a real warhorse. I hope I can charm her like I did all the other ones, otherwise I might have to cut my hair.

I just had a shave with my new 4 Blade razor, and it feels like my face is peeling.

NP: Nothing ftw

About as well as can be expected. I've just been really busy lately. I've got schoolwork, prepping to get my site launched, my guitar lessons, practicing my street magic routine to collect some cash on the side, and trying to end my chronic datelessness.

Needless to say, I still haven't struck the perfect balance in rationing out the necessary time.

Ah, now I see. When I said "goin' at it," I didn't mean ":naughty:GOIN' AT IT." Either way, I get what you're saying now.

Everytime our DM comes into the store, he tells our store manager to tell me to cut my hair. I just ignore him, and he eventually forgets about it. That is, until the next time the DM comes in.

I didn't think you were getting at that, but the distance issues have prevented us from doing anything serious so far, so I can't really say anything is truly happening between us yet.

You're too young anyway.

Well, cheerio then lads. I'll see you all at a later date.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-30-2006 11:24 PM

People who are hair nazi's are just plain stupid. Are there any girls that work at your grocery? If so, then tell the DM to tell your store manager to make all of the girls with long hair cut it as well.

I mean come on, women can vote, why can't we have long hair?

Ah, the obstacle of travel.

That reminds me, I really need to bust ass and get a job. My best friend got engaged over the holidays, and is getting married in LA in 2007. He wants me to be the best man. Needless to say, getting the money for a plane ticket and hotel fair is going to be a bitch.

Tradition has it that he has to pay for you to travel there.

They have their hair in a ponytail though. I'm not enough of an '80s Action Hero to pull that off...

Meanwhile, is it bad that I instinctively read DM as Dungeon Master?

Why then is she no longer active on the boards? She seems to have enjoyed herself when she was here. Would it be awkward and such?

I imagine it would be, given a second thought to the BH/BC debacle.

An '80's Action Hero like say...CHUCK NORRIS!!?!

omgomgprovoking

Anyways, oh, right, so then they do have you by the nuts. :( How about hairnets? Those are always kind of funny for a day or two.

Actually, his fiance's family might do that. His finds are limited much like mine.

Considering our definition of a good any kind of party is one where you're able to keep people from breaking something expensive...

It wouldn't be so bad if I could drive. Not that I would br driving that far at this point, but then I'd at least have a much better chance. Although I'm of age, I haven't even started driving yet, which really sucks. :( I'm quite sure I'm the last out of everyone in my class at school who doesn't drive.

On a completely unrelated note, does anyone here like Apocalyptica?

I'm 21 and I still don't have my license. It's not like I could pay for the car insurance, anyway, so why bother having something I'll get no use out of?

Cain 01-30-2006 11:35 PM

Liscenses are wasted on the young. They could be spending all the time they use maintaining their vehicles to actually be gaining some constructive talent.

Oldies without wheels++

I didn't get my liscense until exactly one year ago. I am now nineteen and a better driver for it.

Permanent Solution 01-30-2006 11:35 PM

So...Gaby and I are on break.

But I'm actually ok, so far. :)

Who's impressed? :p

It used to be standard in our family that kids had to wait until they were 18 to drive. Both of my brothers had to go through that. It lowered the price of insurance significantly and also made them much better drivers (apparently). The only reason I'm not being forced to do this as well is because there's a huge gap in age between me and my brothers (the oldest is nearly twice my age) and I'm basically an only child. And since my social life has apparently sufferend greatly with the depression, my parents thought it would do me well do give me some means to get around.

I don't need it, but it would certainly be of use. I loath the public transportation around here.

Dr. Jake Destructo 01-30-2006 11:43 PM

The only time i really ever drive is on the weekends, and now that I'm pretty much under house arrest for the time being, I need nothing of my vehicle or drivers license.

Shat, and I spent like 4k on all of my driving stuff. :upset: I could have spent that on drums or..maybe some self help guide on how to stay out of contact with police.

/wallows in self pity

Cain 01-30-2006 11:45 PM

Where I live, it is impossible to get around without a liscense. The reason for many of my slightly-disintegrated friendships around home is probably a direct consequence of a lack of easy means to transport myself and thus an over-reliance on the charity of my friends or my parents (shudder) to get me places. It proved to be too difficult too often, and likely contributed to my own depression senior year. Now I don't care so much though, and am pleased to simply have the ability to spend my time out how I like, when I like.

EDIT: Poor Jake. Not having the big av has really set you on the fabled downward spiral. :)

I have learned to keep my mouth shut whenever me and a girl went on a "break"

Kingofdudes 01-30-2006 11:47 PM

I've ben driving for about a year. I have never been in an accident, but my car has been hit 3 times in the parking lot while I was at work.

Permanent Solution 01-30-2006 11:48 PM
I have learned to keep my mouth shut whenever me and a girl went on a "break"
Why?

As to driving...I got my license as soon as I could, basically. But I used my car most primarily to get to work and school, less often to see friends. Now I lost insurance so I rarely drive. But this summer I'm going to be needing insurance again as I'll be living alone and I'll need a car to get to work and other places.

EDIT: I've been in 2 accidents while driving. I was "at fault" for one. But eh, ice isn't really totally under my control :-\
