Sweet guys I'm out!
Schmay000 post you opinions on those songs please.:) |
Ok heres what you do, you sell all your junk cd's (rap, hip hop, etc.) go to your music store or where ever and you buy:
1- Dark side of the moon, Pink Floyd 2- Cream of Clapton, Eric Clapton 3- Led Zeppelin III, Led Zeppelin (obviously) 4- The Best Of The Who, The Who (obviously) And you sit down and you listen to every one of those cd's! and that should get all the demons out of you, you will never listen to rap or crap agian!
O.k., the fact that you are narrowminded enough to say that all rap and pop sucks is pathetic. Then, instead of telling me something useful, you tell me to get two best of cds and the two most popular classic rock cds. This just shows me that your opinion on music cannot be taken seriously, and on a more serious note, you should end yourself. |
Today I brought in Dogs to my guitar lessons, and its a really complex song (as the open tuning would suggest), because every time he switches a chord, the key changes. So I get to play around with this for the next week. :thumb:
The Grateful Dead box set sucks unless you're like an unbeilievably huge fan and want to own anything having to do with them...out of the lke 140 songs on it only about 30 are ones that you'll wanna listen to on a regular basis but those 30 songs will probly be on CDs 8-12 so just go buy them each at a cheaper price.
Obviously a first timmer wouldn't buy this. These discs aren't even known. Let alone their critically "good" albums. If you do (There are overall 13 discs) happen to go out and buy each disc, it would roughly come out to $190. And you probably won't find a quarter of them. And overall, what your kinda proposing, is that we might aswell buy a Best of CD. All the songs are good. Some editions are even extended, but you won't know how much more good songs there are. |
What album is that off of? It sounds like a cool song just by the name.
From the first album. It is a good song, as well as that riff, it's got an excellent solo too, that's great fun to jam to. If you get the remaster, you'll also get three bonus tracks recorded as the Stalk-Forrest Group, from an unreleased album. Psychedelic, jammy and all out great fun. |
I'm listening to In the Dark right now it's pretty good, but Shakedown Street was better. I'm gonna listen to From the Mars Hotel next.
I knew you'd all see it my way
 Maybe I had my head up my arse the first time I listened to it. |
So, what are all of your current favorite Dead songs?
|
Franklin's Tower, Uncle John's Cabin, Touch of Grey, Truckin', Sugar Magnolia those are the ones I'm usually jamming too.
|
So, what are all of your current favorite Dead songs?
Shakedown Street, Fire on the Mountain, Casey Jones, Uncle John's Band, Box of Rain, Cumberland Blues, Touch of Grey, and Hell In a Bucket. |

Why is it a waste? I'd be getting a bunch of albums I cannot find, for less than I'd spend if I bought them seperatley. I would also be getting unreleased material, and various other live songs that would not be included on the album.

Some people find it stupid to get a Best of, because if they got into a the chosen band, they would have wasted money. Unless you consider it a sample, but then you could have just downloaded it or sampled a song for free. I doubt you would understand, the commitment is obviously not shown through you, being that you listed all hit songs off of their new compilation (Though you may not have it), and you titled one of their known songs incorrectly.

I dont see anything wrong with Best of's. If you want to get into a certain band, I recommend them to a first timer. And if you get into that band and buy their actual records thats fine too. I mean, Retrospective and Skeletons in the Closet are both greatest hits, but great albums, and perfect for even the most devoted fan. |

Retrospective is great, but then again I'm not really a devoted Buffalo Springfield fan. |
To JPJ I saw your replacement in the 100 top song list. For Phish those are my 2 favourite songs by them also.:)

:) I love those songs and I figured Purple Haze would get a good bit of votes, and the metal heads might vote for all the Sabbath songs so I had to do it. |
