I'm having my room redecorated, new carpet and painting the walls and stuff so I won't be able to use the pc for about a week :( Today is the last day I'll be on here, so if I'm not on tonight I will catch y'all in about a weeks time.

Anyone else watching Live 8?

Bukowski 07-02-2005 04:35 PM

^Yeah, Pink Floyd were great i think. I've not watched anybody else though, i switched on literally just before Money.

Me is lucky :)

Today I got the Soundgarden album Badmotorfinger. It's very good; a lot different than Superunknown, and my favorite song is definitely "Rusty Cage."

It was hard to buy because they had a lot of great albums at the same lower price. Primus, Pixies, Queens of the Stone Age, and whatever else was in that area of the alphabet that I was looking at when I went up to pay for it.

Live 8 wasn't on TV over here. Maybe it'll be on this week or something.

Today's picnic was the bomb. I grilled a couple of pork chops and chicken bits, and saw some pretty ladies as well. mmm hmm

Zappa 07-02-2005 08:37 PM

I've been on vacation since last Monday. I went to Milwaukee to visit some of my parents' friends, to visit my grandmother, and to shop. I bought a new digital piano, a keyboard amplifier, a couple toy keyboards, and 5 CDs.

br3ad_man 07-02-2005 08:44 PM

Woah, someone's rich.

Tangy zizzle 07-02-2005 08:46 PM

What CD's Zaphoid?

Band's gig went pretty bad. I blew a bass amp about 25 minutes into the show, so that sucked.

My gig was cool, but some dick asked me to play some skynyrd so I gave up and finished early.

lunch998 07-02-2005 08:46 PM

That's a lot of keyboard stuff.

Zappa 07-02-2005 08:58 PM

I've been saving money for a digital piano at least since my last birthday (October). It was in the cards eventually.

The CDs are:
Duke Ellington's Ellington at Newport 1956 (Complete)
Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong's The Great Summit
The Ramones' The Ramones
Red Garland's Red Garland's Piano
Jimmy Smith's Root Down

YDload 07-02-2005 09:31 PM

is a digital piano the same thing as the electric pianos popularized by soul and salsa guys? or is it just a programmable type of synth thing?

Zappa 07-02-2005 09:38 PM

As I understand it, a digital piano is an attractive piece of musical furniture that realistically reproduces the sound of a piano and perhaps a few other instruments (organs, strings, the old Fender electric piano, etc.) through either a set of speakers in the unit or a separate amplifier when a person strikes its keys (which nowadays are typically weighted to give the player a piano-like feeling).

In other words, my new Korg SP-200 is a dream-machine.

biografiend 07-02-2005 09:52 PM

nice. How much did it cost you?

JonM 07-02-2005 09:59 PM
Post 900!
You and me both, man. This is ridiculous.

Zappa 07-02-2005 10:52 PM
nice. How much did it cost you?
It was like $1050 out the door. That includes a pretty sweet Peavey amplifier and a keyboard stand.

What more could you want?

br3ad_man 07-03-2005 05:47 AM

My ear is blocked, I got water in it this morning when I had a shower. Now, 12 hours later, it's still in my ear.

Glitterati 07-03-2005 10:27 AM

No fun :-/

Zmev 07-03-2005 02:31 PM

Ugh, I hate that.

ATM 07-03-2005 03:00 PM

My ears are ringing from a show on Friday.

Phunphone 07-03-2005 03:25 PM

Wassup folks  It's been a while since I posted in this thread, which is always a rarity, so I thought I would. Oh, BTW, Kings of Convenience on Wednesday!!

Kyle 07-03-2005 04:21 PM

quick question, what ever became of the most influential alt/indie band poll thing?

Bukowski 07-03-2005 04:52 PM

Just booked tickets for Mew, I'm gonna rock with those Danish dudes.

Sigur Ros, Mew, and possibly Dredg this month. I'm expecting good times to be had.

Well_Respected_Man 07-03-2005 04:55 PM

soooo, I got laid.

Little Man being Erased 07-03-2005 05:00 PM

Nice. How was it?

Interstate 07-03-2005 05:01 PM

My room is being redecorated so my pc has to be disconnected. So today is the last day I'll be on here for about a week. (and it's 12am so I should really go to bed soon) Be back in about a week
