Yeah man, I was heaps into effects when I was in high school. I still have them all lying around but I barely even get them out of their boxes these days. I love delay, I want to get an Akai Headrush II.

Sounds like a great pedal. I may just abandon the idea of a Boss DD-7 and RC-2 because I can get that Akai for cheaper than the other two combined. I'm not fancy with my effects, so that's perfect. Time to read some reviews.

But it wasn't a total waste, I came up with some damn cool stuff when I smoked. If it were decriminalized, I'd probably start smoking again every weekend just to write my music.

So, has anybody tried Kratom? I'm going to pick some up tonight and try it.

It's quite nice but you have to take a fair bit of it. It is similar to codeine in some ways but with more energy. You getting an extract or just plain stuff? If you are getting plain stuff you'll wanna take about five or six grammes at least.

I seem to have a naturally high tolerance to the stuff though which sucks, even if I took like 1g of 12x extract I still didn't get too much. It is a relatively subtle thing though. Great to mix with weed.

I've heard you get much more from it if you make a tea out of it.

The package I bought is 15 grams, but it doesn't give an extract number, leading me to believe it's not in any concentrated form, just crushed into a fine powder.

I naturally have a high tolerance too, so it's kewl...you aren't alone.

I'm going to try making a tea from 1 gram of it and I'm also going to make hash from a gram of it and test them out tomorrow and Sunday night, just to see what happens.

Where did you get yours from? I don't wanna be ripped off, but I'd like some 12-15x (if this isn't already).

I got some from herbalhighs.com, the 15x extract which I smoked and got a nice effect from, kind of alert stonedness. I got some 12x Thai kratom from here:

Making a tea is a good option, it just doesn't taste too great but not too bad.

If you only make 1g into a tea you will get pretty much nothing from it, it will be a waste of a gramme. It will be normal non-extract kratom if they don't specify it is an extract, when they make extracts the makers and seller always want to point it out.

As far as I can remember 4g is an okay starting point, anything less than that won't give much of an effect.

Good to know, sir. I'm hoping the "alert stonedness" is good. I find I can't focus on my math or school work after I smoke, which is why I've quit, but I've always been curious about Kratom.

How much of the 15x did you smoke?

I'll probably put 5g in a tea since I can easily divide the portions into three parts. I've heard that it's good to mix it with black or green tea to help mask the flavor.

The alert stonedness is pretty good. It is a fairly short lived stone, maybe about an hour, your mind gets a bit fogged though not as much as usual and you an move around more. I think I had like 2 or 3 bowls held for about 30 seconds.

5g portions is probably best and make sure to drink on an empty or relatively empty stomach for best results.

I've not been up to that much, just being very immersed in Japanese at the moment, I am trying to make the majority of what I watch and listen to in Japanese. Recently got an R4 for my DS which allows me to run stuff from a flash card and I have been downloading a lot of pure Japanese anime, no subs, and putting it on my DS to watch whenever and wherever. It's pretty cool.

Downloaded that Rosetta Stone language program for Japanese too and been using that. It teaches purely through immersion too with everything in Japanese. Will take a while but apparently it is a good program.

I just got a CD of some old music my dad made about ten years ago, pretty cool stuff actually. My dad is quite an awesome pianist. I'll upload a couple of tracks, you might like it.

How about you, Joe? Anything planned for the weekend aside from sampling the kratom on Sunday?

I thought it was a lefty, but the guys laptop reversed the picture, so it was a right-handed bass. Almost perfectly set up w/ new strings and had an amazing tone. A bit of buckle rash on the back and a little ding on the bottom back side.

I pull up, and we start chatting. He talks about the fact that feels bad that there's a ding or two in it and the case is covered with stickers and had some scraping. He then offers to take [b]ANOTHER $100 OFF[/b].

The thing is in supreme condition for a bass he has had for years and played a tour with. He sold it to me with a MusicMan case and a DiMarzio strap for...

The first track is a kinda acid jazz sorta thing, some electronic effects with drums from an electric kit, da[COLOR="Black"]m[/COLOR]n cool track. My dad plays piano, keys and programmed the effects, his cousin on guitar and his mate on electronic drums. It has an awesome effect in the intro using Q sound I think it's called. If you play it on speakers you will hear the line "get serious" as if it came over your left shoulder.

The second track is a melodic latinish jazz piece my dad wrote with him on piano and keyboard bass, his mate on electronic drums and his cousin on guitar. Pretty nice track.

I wish my dad had tried to form a band doing this stuff.

I know. I couldn't believe it when he dropped the price to $500, let alone throwing in the case and strap and only asking me for $400 when I got there.

I think I'm going to have my Uncle's MIM Jazz set up and then sell it.

I actually didn't try the Kratom. I just ended up going to bed because I was so dog tired. I measured out 7 grams of it and set it aside - that should be enough for some Kratom tea.

I did put a little in my mouth for taste. Reminded me of old grass clippings, but with 100x the potency. I'm not too excited to make tea out of it. Lol.

I've always wanted to figure out how to record music in 5.1 surround sound. I'm sure there's a way to designate a front/rear pan as well as left/right.
