Isn't their like some messed up feedback problems? I only watched that dvd once... and that was March 19th.
|
So I have the chance to see audioslave in the near future.
I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I think it would be worth going because I am a huge RATM fan. Do they do any RATM covers live? |
Yes, Bulls on Parade clip, Sleep Now In the Fire, and Killing in the Name. Go dude, go.
|
I thought that the Grand Olympic performance of Freedom was the best because there weren't as many errors with equipment as there were in Mexico City.
I was meaning the entire set in general was better performed, I dunno, just had a better sound to it. |
I kinda liked the first three albums. That's just me, though.

Do they do any RATM covers live?
Sleep Now In the Fire, Killing in the Name, and Bulls on Parade (Instrumental), are common from what I hear. At any rate, I think this thread really needs a better direction to head in besides the typical favourite album/song thing, so here are my suggestions: 1. Tell us who is your favourite member and why. 2. Tell us who you think could have been a suitable replacement for Zack. 3. Tell us what was your defining Rage moment. for Me: 1. Tim Commerford because he has been probably my biggest inspiration to play bass. He is a powerhouse onstage, he's reserved but at the same time there is this fiery aura surrounding him, and every once in a while you'll just see him close his eyes lift his head and just relish the moment while a bit later he'll be bobbing his head and shouting like a mad man into the mic. Love how he can have his bass so high without looking like a lame-o too. 2. Chuck D of Public Enemy, no other rapper of his era has the same intensity and his interest in the political is as forceful of Zack. Public Enemy were an inspiration to Rage and it would be the most logical and probably best replacement for them. He still couldn't handle those screams though. (outro of Freedom and No Shelter for instance) 3. When I had the overpowering urge to watch LATGOA dvd on September 13th on year, without even thinking that it was the anniversary of the show. Now its my tradition. Anyone else celebrate 6 days ago? or is it just me? |
1.) My favorite member of RATM is probaly Tom because the crazy a$$ stuff riffs he invented on guitar and some of the things that i remeber reading about (his view of racism and the political structure of america) a while back.
2.) Off the top of my head i cant really think of someone different that could take Zack's spot and still make rage fans satisfied IMO. Now that I think of it i think Zack's voice really attracted me to ratm and what they were all about. 3.) My defining rage moment was when my friend first introduced me to ratm and put on bulls on barade(he had this monstrous subwoofer that really got my blood flowing) and i got one of the biggest adrenaline rushes ive ever had.. good times :) :) |

Yo, anyone know if the rumours are true that Bill hicks sang the bridge on "know your enemy" live once?? (ya know, maynard keenans part on the album) :thumb:
tanx in advance. |
Rage has invented some of the greatest riffs. Take know your enemy and sleep now in the fire, they are classic, but i am not hearing too many good riffs from tom in audioslave.
|
Audioslave has some sweet riffs man, check out Show Me How to Live's riff.
|
i only have their latest cd
|

As far as having a favourite member, it's got to be Tom - The reason I started playing the guitar. The most unique guitarist in the world. And it's weird, I had never been so intrested in Politics so much before RATM, and I'm always intrested to hear what Tom and the like have to say about world issues. I go to Axis Of Justice.org to hear. |
i only have their latest cd
That's a shame because that's their weakest album. You have to get the other three, they are absolutely essential to your collection. You can find reviews for the first three albums here: Self titled: http://sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=352 Evil Empire: http://sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=112 The Battle of Los Angeles: http://sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=379 Enjoy. If you can only get one then get the self titled. As far as I'm concerned that's the best album of the 90s. |
nahi have only got the latest audioslave cd, and i have only got the first rage against the machine album, but my cousin let me borrow all the others. My fav song at the moment is renegades of funk

Back to RATM...
Is it just me, or does Tom Morello have one of the best stage presences ever? |
i have only seen one live dvd and he is awesome on that
|
i have only seen one live dvd and he is awesome on that
Which one was it? In all of them he is great. |
Back to RATM...
Of course
Glad to see that someone else agrees. You just can't deny the greatness of the Tom Morello hobo-stomp that he does all the time. |
I love watching his left foot thump during Know Your Enemy.
|
I love watching his left foot thump during Know Your Enemy.
Yeah, that's the hobo stomp. I also love watching Zack's dreds fly about when he jumps around the stage. |

Like during Sleep Now in the Fire? |
Like during Sleep Now in the Fire?
Yeah, that's when he does it the hardest. That and in the last chorus of Calm Like A Bomb on the Grand Olympic DVD. |
Hey Metal Head, 2 questions: How old are you, and did you have a different MX account name?
|
Hey Metal Head, 2 questions: How old are you, and did you have a different MX account name?
1. I am 15. 2. No, this is my only MX account name. Why do you ask? |
1. Tell us who is your favourite member and why. 2. Tell us who you think could have been a suitable replacement for Zack. 3. Tell us what was your defining Rage moment.
1) Tommy!!!! He is my bigest inpiration and everytime I listen I wonder what he was thinking when he wrote those amazing riffs. 2) I can't think of any. On sort of the same topic, someone commented here in the forums that Zack should replace Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, and I thought that it was sort of a good idea, because Mr. Durst was just immitating Zack on their album. Their last album actually was good, minus the vocals of course. Flame away! 3) The time I heard Calm Like A Bomb for the fisrt time. Without hearing that song I probably would have never bought LATGOA. I heard Guerilla Radio many times, but I wasn't gonna buy it for one song. Also, I listened to CLAB and Guerilla radio like once or twice each, and thought man I can't believe I bought this. Then I saw the Bulls On Parade music video, and I fell in love with that album. I also started listening to them even more after I bought Renegades for $7, at the Radio Shack. :thumb: |
Back to RATM...
Is it just me, or does Tom Morello have one of the best stage presences ever?
Fck Yes! That's where the energy comes from. Up on the amps and then jumping off, makes the crowd go wild. When I saw Audioslave he was full of energy, just makes the show so much better. :thumb: |
is there live dvd at mexico good?
|
yea, in some ways i think its better than live at the grand olympic auditorium. I think that the sound quality is better, but unfortunately there isnt the extra concert and zach says loads of political stuff after every couple of songs.
Still good though. |
is there live dvd at mexico good?
People say it's one of the best musical performances of all time, so I think it's safe to say that every RATM fan should buy it. |
ok i might get it now
|
Yeah I was thinking of going out and buying a few live DVDS and I'll add this to my list.
