Thx for starting a Beatles thread man i needed a place to relax.
At least a few people rember the beatles as the creators of classic rock that they were. From Mcartney and Lennon's lyrics and orchestral music to ringos simple drum beats and finally ending up with Harrison's guitar. Harrison was one of the greatest guitarist, look at his work from Norweigen Wood, Blackbird, and She Came in Through the Bathroom Window. Greatest Beatles A Day in the Life Norweigen Wood Blackbird Tax Man Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Also i found a copy of Hendrix performing Day Tripper with the beatles and it's hilarious man, remind me to post it up later along with the hendrix cover of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart Club Band |
I've just watched the Beatles 1st ed sullivan show performance!
Wow, it's brilliant :thumb: |
This might sound stupid to you big fans, but I was listening to the Beatles once and was wandering who was the Lead Guitarist? John or George?
|
George-Lead Guitar
John-Rythym Guitar Paul- Bass Ringo- Drooms :) |
You know somthing I should know but don't is did John switch to lead after he left?
|

He wrote the guitar work. |

I don't think so. George Harrison played lead on his Imagine album. |

Depends on the song, George did Lead for the Albumn Imagine. and also John played a hell of alot of piano after the beatles |
i goit the doble disc white album for x-mas and i love it
|
George-Lead Guitar
John-Rythym Guitar Paul- Bass Ringo- Drooms :)
I thought John was rythym cause he sings more than George and not many lead guitarists sing. Well thanks anyway. |
George-Lead Guitar

It's different on different songs, I think.
Paul played piano on Hey Jude and Let it Be. |

fantastic :thumb: |
Does anybody know who played piano?
I think both John and Paul did, I know I read Paul learned how to play the piano young, and John had Imagine so... |
I was listening to Helter Skelter around one of my friends and they said the begining sounded like a Ramones song. I've never heard a Ramones song, but if thats true I might start.
|
its considered the first metal song
|
i like helter skelter on there anthology cd, its acoustic but still good.
|
What about comparing them to the Ramones? Are they really like Helter Skelter? Sorry I usually wouldn't push for the answear like this, but I'm going to the cd store tomorrow and if they sound like Helter Skelter I'll pick somthing by them up (and that acoustic version of it sounded cool too I'll look for it :thumb: )
|
I ran into someone who thought that Helter Skelter and various other harder Beatles songs were rip offs of The Ramones. That's stupid though since The beatles were way before The Ramones.

|
Does anyone have a preference between the original sgt. pepper's or the reprise?
All together I like the first one the best, but I like the guitar on the reprise better. |
That's a brilliant album, isn't it :)
|
I remember that I had this shocked look on my face after the first three guitar notes of Sgt Peppers Lonly Hearts Club Band and it stayed that way until long after A Day in the Life was over.
|
I was wondering who plays the brass instruments on Sgt. Peppers?
|
