I was going to say that, I heard it had shoddy production? (allthought the tracks are supposed to be good?)

IAJP 02-25-2005 10:40 AM

It's all pretty good, I was gonna get a Metallica album tommorow, but I might get 3 Megadeth albums instead.

Arise II 02-25-2005 11:49 AM

I've loved Dn Patrol since day one

And yes, KIMBABIG has pretty crappy production/mixing. As well as any pre-RIP album

CaptainWaits 02-25-2005 11:53 AM
Which Tallica album?
I would've asked which Megadeth albums

btoto 02-25-2005 12:29 PM

Are we going to hear any studio work by Drover??? Or you guys think it's impossible..

I'm interested how good he is as a composer

MAthiAS 02-25-2005 02:19 PM
Quick question:
In terms of technicality:
Friedman or Poland?
Friedman, he's at Becker's level of pwnage.

Production quality... well, considering I have the remastered Peace Sells and SFSGSW, and KIMB was remastered in 2002, I think its good enough. Nothing to stop you from loving the music.

For Drover, see King Diamond, his former band. I'd rather see Poland back in the studio... actually I'd just love it if Poland joined the band, and Menza could too.

Arise II 02-25-2005 02:48 PM
It would be sweet if Poland and Menza joined the band again.
Menza did join in, but then backed out in the last minute.

BTW, have you guys heard about him and the "aliens"?

munky_magik 02-25-2005 02:51 PM
Menza did join in, but then backed out in the last minute.

Isn't he convinced that Aliens exist?
Hence the lyrics for Hangar 18

MAthiAS 02-25-2005 03:26 PM

I know, that pissed me off.

Wouldn't be surprised at all, he's a pretty strange guy. And I mean that the most pwning of ways.

willis2441 02-25-2005 05:43 PM

did mustaine sue for some of the songs he wrote that metallica has?

MAthiAS 02-25-2005 07:03 PM

Now lets hear about the martians...
and on a new topic, what's you guys favorite album cover art of Deth's? I'd say the new KIMB and TSHF are mine. Actually I just listened to TSHF again last night, and I have to say, I think its as good as Countdown.

Arise II 02-26-2005 04:46 AM

^^^^Same here.

And regarding the aliens: Nick is convinced they exist, he even claims that he have slept with some of them during all the touring. I'm not sure weather it was Mustaine or Friedman who later claimed that "Its sad to hear such a stupid thing coming from such an intelligent guy" :D

Yes Sir, TSHF really starts to grow on you after a while doesn't it?
I would say it's alot like countdown, and it definatly pwns.

I reckon my absolute favourite 'Deth cover would be SFSG...SW,
just to see Rattlehead like that, it makes me wanna listen to that album
even more.

acefrehleyjendell 02-26-2005 07:52 AM
I always thought that album cover looked kinda silly, but there you go thats just MO.
Yeah, i always thought CTE and CW were pretty crap myself, i think
most people i know would say Peace Sells or Rust in peace but i have
seen those album covers almost every day for about 12 years, so they
don't really catch my eye as much anymore

Yeah, I noticed every song sounds like its from a previous Deth album.
Blackmail the Universe - Rust in Peace
Die Dead Enough - Cryptic Writings
Kick the Chair - Rust in Peace (a lot like Take No Prisoners)
The Scorpion - Countdown or Youthanasia
Tears in a Vial - Cryptic Writings
Back in the Day - Killing is my Business
Something That I'm Not - Youthanasia
Truth Be Told - Countdown or Youthanasia
Of Mice and Men - Cryptic Writings
My Kingdom Come - Countdown

Yeah i would have made the exact comparison, maybe would have likened
back in the day to something on Peace Sells but... so what.

KILO5203 02-27-2005 12:17 AM

i got my first three deth albums today. youthanasia, CTE, and RIP

iamtheking 02-27-2005 01:05 AM

My new favourite megadeth song is tornado of souls....previously it was die dead enough.

when did they rename it?

36Dritzlfists 02-27-2005 01:13 AM

I heard Megadeth was gonna go on a big summer tour will a few other bands this summer, do you guys know who they might tour with? The New album is good stuff, I was a big Megadeth fan in high school but then I started listening to underground bands for the past couple of years. Megadeth still owns.

He meant that his fav Megadeth song used to be Die Dead Enough but it is now Tornado of Souls

I think they are going to tour this summer. I know that they're coming to Sweden Rock (along with Yngwie Malmsteen, Anthrax, Dream Theater and Black Label Society). I hope I can afford it :)

Six Foot Revolver 02-27-2005 06:40 AM
That sounds awesome, they best come to the UK.
Indeed they best

IAJP 02-27-2005 08:14 AM

Woo!
I now have:
Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!
Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
R.I.P.
So Far So Good So What?

and

Youthnasia.
I went on a spree yesterday

IAJP 02-27-2005 08:32 AM

Youthnasia is deffinitley the best Megadeth album of the latter days, where Megadeth went more melodic towards the end of their carreer this rocks just as hard as RIP, deffinitley a good album.
The rest are good too, I was a little disapointed by So Far.. but there's still some good tunes off it.
:)

I have

KIMB
Peace Sells
SFSGSW
RIP
CTE
Youthinasia
MD.45
CW
Risk
TWNAH
KIMB remaster
Rude Awakening
TSHF
Peace Sells Remaster
SFSGSW remaster
RIP remaster
CTE remaster
Youthinasia remaster
CW remaster
Risk Remaster

so i think i'm only missing hidden treasures and the MD.45 remaster, though i could be mistaken (i dont count capitol punishment, but i have it)

acefrehleyjendell 02-27-2005 09:04 AM
I have the earlier version of So far...., and yesterday I listened to the re-mastered version in the shop. I only listened to "Into the lungs of hell" but somehow I didnt like it as much.
I think the remaster is better

IAJP 02-27-2005 09:09 AM

Risk good?

Arise II 02-27-2005 09:12 AM
Risk good?
No, Risk bad. Risk very, very bad!
I have the earlier version of So far...., and yesterday I listened to the re-mastered version in the shop. I only listened to "Into the lungs of hell" but somehow I didnt like it as much.
Yeah, the whole fanfare thing is really ill-suited.

Its strange, cuz I figured SFSGSW would sound better without all the annoying effects (Hell, I even thought I smelled BS when I hard a reviewer saying that the new version was crap) but it really just ends up sounding thin and empty. Kind of disappointing, considering that some of Deth's best work is on that album

personally, I don't really care for anything past CTE ('cept the new one). I'd love to get my hands on Hidden Treasures though, 99 Ways To Die - UGH!
\m/(>.<)\m/

MAthiAS 02-27-2005 12:50 PM

I still have to get Cryptics Writings and The World Needs a Hero. Hidden Treasures would be nice too, 99 Ways to Die and that Paranoid cover are both awesome. Is MD.45 worth buying?

MAthiAS 02-27-2005 01:16 PM

^^It was.

Pantera in Chains 02-27-2005 02:56 PM
That sounds awesome, they best come to the UK.
They'll be playin at the Download festival in Donington on the 10th of June. Which is actually the indie day of the festival  . Man I can't way to see them.

AB/CD 02-27-2005 04:08 PM

MD.45 r good origninall dave didnt sing on the craving but when he remastered it he sang on it instead sounds better with him singing its like listening to megadeth

Chu 02-27-2005 07:32 PM

Woooo!!! I just went and bought Peace sells!!!
Haven't had time to listen to the whole thing, but from what I have heard, I like.

MD.45 is worth buying if you like Youthanasia, it has a somewhat similar feel. Hidden Treasures would be a better pick, Angry Again and Breakpoint are worth the album alone!

Great buy dude! Its a classic album.

Juicy_Forlorn 02-27-2005 08:51 PM

I just bought KIMB a few days ago while I was in Orlando! I was so excited that I actually found it because I've been looking for it for months. I've already listened to the whole thing several times and I love it! :D

I have the remastered version and I've never heard the original. Which do you guys think is better?

Chu 02-27-2005 08:53 PM

Peace Sells is blood catchy, I like it alot :)
I like the slow balled type intros to the last few songs too. I'm happy I bought it, good buy :)
Just need KIMB! Unfortunately it's available nowhere in Australia though.
