They're very good live. It's worth catching

I'm going in November.

I think they're playing with Isis, but I haven't heard any of thier stuff so I don't know if I'd like them. But I love Enslaved.

Isis are cool, they're definitely worth a listen. And seriously, is there anyone who doesn't like Enslaved?

i think Enslaved are playing near me soon but don't think i can go as much as i would love to.

NP: Forest - Into the Mouth of Breath. the production on this is even worse than a Burzum album but in a bad way. since the production on Burzum fits well, this just sounds like crap

Production on the Forest album I have fits well.

Even though I like Forest, I'm rarely ever int he mood to listen to them.

it might just be the copy. all i hear is fuzz and some very very low riffs and screams. without the fuzz it would be awesome

^yep. im trying to listen to the vs. EP's on my ipod right now and i discovered Enslaved's side of Hordanes land rules. On the satyricon vs. Enslaved EP the "Yggdrassil" side is not as good as Hordanes land but still pretty good ****.

But yeah, I agree with what you said even though, there definitely is a certain technique to having low production quality. You can't just record with really shitty stuff and expect it to be good. Layering and texture are both really important with low production...

I have the Enslaved/Satyricon split and love it. I also have Enslaved's Isa, which is alright. Some of the later tracks are annoying though.

Get Frost. It's awesomly good black metal, not progressive or melodic or whatever they are now.

imagine an album as poorly produced as say filosofem to be digitally edited somehow so everything was crystal clear. i guarantee it would not be as enjoyable since we've heard it the way it was intended.

and the opening riff to jesu tod remains one of my favorite burzum riffs, plus the accompanying drumbeat is great.

I've been good too though >.< my posting quality has been improving quite a bit lately... but yeah Robbie is right, definitely pick up Frost if you get a chance. If you enjoyed Isa, you should get Ruun as well... Ruun doesn't have as many weird/boring parts to it. It's a lot catchier and better.

Below the Lights is also an amazing album. As Fire Swept Clean the Earth is such a great song.
