well I'm not really fan of this kind of progressive (I like the watchtower-ish technical/progressive metal) but here's what I've heard from people and read from reviews:
Conception - Parallel Minds Vanden Plas - The God Thing Fates Warning - The Spectre Within or Awkening the Guardian (from their less progressive era) |
Can anyone recommend me some Corrosion Of Conformity? Preferably the kinda southern-rock/sabbathy era
|
Just the album Wiseblood is worth owning, in full. Songs to check out in advance;
King of the Rotten Long Whip/Big America Wiseblood Wishbone (Some Tomorrow) Born Again For the Last Time |
I was told to take this to this forum, so here it is...

Lateralus is hard to get into if you haven't hear any other Tool. AEnima is a good place to start. |

For Mudvayne, I'd go with LD50.

I say LD 50 as well
|
LD50 for straight Metal. EOATTC for a more mellow type metal.

I wouldn't say LD 50 was straight metal, it has a lot of filler and many slow/lighter passages in it. |
Could somebody give me a shortened list of some Atmospheric type Doom Metal bands?? Something along the lines of Amorphis' album "The Karelian Isthmus"
meh...Lateralus was my first Tool album, and although it took a while to grow on me from liking it to loving it, I'd still say it's a better place to start than Aenima. Getting either of them is a good decision though, as I don't think there's a huge difference in quality between the two albums.
Lateralus was my first Tool album too, and didn't affect my liking of them negatively, so yeah. I'd say just get whichever is cheaper/more easily available, since what Med's said about the matching quality of the two is about right. |
Which is the best Goatsnake album?
|
Hello.
What would be the best Gorguts album to purchase? |
