The only part of that dvd i never liked was, Was when corey made everyone sit downw for Spit It Out. It was pointless and when they did do it, Wasnt very amazing.
I think Corey anticipated a bigger effect than what he got out of it.

Sleeper 02-28-2005 09:46 PM

Well yeh, I dont think he would of wasted all that time for nothing, But the kids there wouldnt listen at all. They were all psyched that Sid was in the audience and when they went to touch his mask he started flying fists.

Thor 03-01-2005 04:24 PM

I thought the best part of the show was the opening. They couldnt have played that song any better. It just sounded so awesome.

Sleeper 03-01-2005 04:32 PM

People=$hit is not one of my favorites, But its one of my favorite live songs from them.

People = **** is my 2nd favorite song by Slipknot, but the best is Purity. They just dont have another song that can compare to it.

Mister_Che 03-01-2005 04:39 PM

Purity sounds best live. The crunch from both guitars is awesome on Disasterpieces.

He gets a big effect out of it now if he didn't then.

Seriously, everyone knows it's coming now, they know what to do

Purity Live is there best song, period. The studio version has nothing on the live version.

Sleeper 03-01-2005 07:36 PM

The studio version of purity is ok, I would like them to re-do it now. That would sound amazing.

TheSubtleArts 03-01-2005 09:24 PM

i hope they still play gently, in recent shows i dont think they have

Sleeper 03-01-2005 09:30 PM

Well there on tour for Volume 3 so i would think they would play Vol 3 Stuff. But if they snuck in Gently for a closer that would be pretty cool.

That was on the 27th of February.

On NBC's website it says ALL-NEW. Plus I heard on some local radio station they said slipknot will perform tonight on slipknot. I dont know, I think they record the show few hours before the show. And 27th is sunday, and there is no late night shows on sunday.

So your saying if your wearing a Slipknot shirt there not selling out, And if there selling a shoe they are?

PepsiMetal 03-01-2005 11:27 PM

WTF does band's clothing gear have anything to do with selling out? Almost every band out there has their own clothing gear.

Huber 03-02-2005 12:07 AM
anyone here seen the ***official*** slipknot shoe?

Almost every band has there own clothing. Shoes are no differen't then a shirt.

The JoZ 03-02-2005 12:09 AM

Clothing has nothing to do with 'selling out'.

Generally, I thought the concept of selling out dealt with a band's music, and how they sound. If Slipknot changed the kind of music they were writing to appease the label, or to gain more fans or whatever, that would be selling out...or if they specifically said they didn't ever want to have any merchandise with their logos on it, and then changed their mind...maybe that would apply.

But simply having gear with your name on it doesn't constitute selling out. It's called 'promotion', and Slipknot, like many good bands, have utilized it well.

That being said, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing those shoes, but someone would, I bet

Bartender 03-02-2005 12:21 AM

To my mind, selling out is doing something you very clearly said you wouldn't, usually for some monetary renumeration, or at least the want of such (case in point; Metallica), or else very notably changing your sound for the want of commercial success.

So, having clothing, etc, shouldn't necessarily be seen as selling out, unless it goes against former principles. It could be seen as just being whores (or whatever :)) in general, from a standpoint independent of the concept of selling out. For example, I always thought the Slipknot lunchbox was a step too far.

How can a person know if a band didn't and doesn't like playing the music? How do we know they didn't just change because they were tired of old music and went for something new?

To my understanding, it's impossible for a person (public audience) to know if a band sold out or not. Unless the band actually says they hate playing current music but they will because they need money. Or something like that.

BTW, tonight slipknot performed Before I forget. Pretty good. Saw Mick's new ibanez.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 03-02-2005 01:58 AM

I'm not too fond of their stuff, but they put on a pretty good performance at the Big Day Out.

Also, Mick 7 had an awesome guitar :p.
