Ta.

Cool Edit is the most basic.
Cubase has more advanced editing tools (apparantly)
Pro Tools is what Steve Vai uses (!), so you can't actually download the full version.

ooo ooohhho ooo0000ooOOOO ..... Steve Vai uses it!
lawl.

I think I'll dig up a torrent for Cool Edit.

Would it help if I sent the guitar pro files once I tab each part out?

MRDuCran 04-19-2006 01:32 AM

Yeah, I could at least add the drums in there too, it'd be easy that way.

Alright. Can you record with Cool Edit?

Or would I have to record with Audacity? Then mix?

gmoneyguy 04-19-2006 01:33 AM

Hey charming do you know what key you are writing this in?

MRDuCran 04-19-2006 01:37 AM
Alright. Can you record with Cool Edit?

Yeah Cool Edit is a multi track recorder.

After it's done, I could mixdown the drums to mp3 and record them into it as your backing track, then record over etc etc.
Hey charming do you know what key you are writing this in?
No. If it sounds good and blends together, that's how I'm rolling. :p

The cords sound like Major cords to me though.

D--7-9-12-
A--7-9-12-
D--7-9-12-

Those are the bar cords. I havn't done much. Just a couple riffs and jammed through a ton of stuff. I'll post the guitar pro tab tomorrow.

Alright. This is my first time writting/recording a serious song, so I'll be learning a lot. I don't mind learning though.

Those are fifths so they have no tonality. I'll help you with chord structures and stuff tomorrow over aim, but I really need to go to sleep otherwise I would help you now.

Thanks a lot man!

I'll add you.

I'm a theory n00b, I'm sure you can tell. :p

BTW: My guess on the cords was, they sound "warm" so I figured Major.

repcak 04-19-2006 02:43 PM

does anyone of you use guitar pro 5?
how told yesterday i had some licks, riffs, some song-ideas saved as *.gp5 and i can't open them anymore. when i install gp5 the warning is still there and i can't work with it... i have to use GP4 once again.

it would be great if someone would transform those tabs to *.gp4 (open the *.gp5 file and save it as *.gp4) and send them back to me. its nothing special... only some riffs, licks i'm practising... but it would help me a lot!

anyone?

AA-12 04-19-2006 02:45 PM

Send it to me and I will. JSevered013@gmail.com

how do you make a tab i still cant figure that out.

repcak 04-19-2006 04:13 PM

if you have Guitar Pro the only thing you have to do is to open a new file and write the tab.

if you want the high e string to be played on the 5th fret, click on the first string and press the number 5 on you keyboard. thats it.

AA-12 04-19-2006 04:51 PM

I'll probably do it early next week. Right now the camera has to stay at school, as we're doing a movie for my graphic design class.

I'm Charming 04-19-2006 04:51 PM
When you doing that video?
It is, why?

EDIT: I see what you mean. We have to leave it there because each group is allowed only a certain amount of time to film/edit the movie.

Why would you get in trouble for that?
Why would you get in trouble for that?
cause it says to upload music vids you need to get permission and crap, and was wondering if its one of those things they say but never enforce.

Drunken Viking 04-19-2006 09:47 PM

If it's a bootleg then you wont get in trouble.
