nah you don't owe me anything, brother.

Trintar_VIII 08-24-2005 03:35 PM

Hello, all. I've been gone for several days - computer troubles. Any news of late? Also, why is the OFFICIAL part gone in this thread now?

Killtacular 08-24-2005 03:41 PM

Because "Official" is too hardcore.
For some reason I still question that that is them collabrating.

X7. Did Tool and Rage Against the Machine do a song together?

They did collaborate on a 7-minute song that is available on various websites. This unnamed song, known only as "Revolution," was apparently supposed to be on the Judgment Night soundtrack, but never made it. It features both bands playing minus Adam (and Justin, obviously)
Trintar_VIII 08-24-2005 03:44 PM

So all Official threads were changed then?

Killtacular 08-24-2005 03:48 PM

You got it.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-24-2005 04:14 PM

I just recorded 46&2 on guitar. It turned a little better than I thought it would for a first take.

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 08-24-2005 04:57 PM

yeah thats a savage bass intro *du da du da de dul dadely dadely du da*!! is he running flanger over it, its kinda hard to tell.

any news on the Carey/Claypool colaberation?

Mr Herb 08-24-2005 05:09 PM

carey claypool???!!?!?

ThePatient 08-24-2005 05:25 PM

The who in the what now?! You can't just say that and leave... get back here.

Dr. Jake Destructo 08-24-2005 05:28 PM
yeah thats a savage bass intro *du da du da de dul dadely dadely du da*!! is he running flanger over it, its kinda hard to tell.
He uses a chorus pedal, which is similair to a flange effect, but it doesn't garble the notes together, which is what happens with excess flange. When I play 46&2 on my guitar, I typically add a little bit of chorus, just to add a different flavor to it. It makes the song sound quite spacey.

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 08-24-2005 05:35 PM

ohh yeah!!!

sorry guys i had to go, yes Danny Carey is working on a project with Les Claypool the AMAZING bass player from primus!!!! it was on the official site some time ago but i havnt heard anything about it since. whaddyall think of that. sounds promising!!
Edit: Quote from toolband.com

BELEW, CLAYPOOL & CAREY
As I'm sure all of you know, DANNY CAREY is playing drums on ADRIAN BELEW's solo project entitled "SIDE ONE" (Sanctuary Records), with the third member of the "power trio" being Primus bass guitarist Les Claypool. "Side One" is the first of three solo releases by Belew, so look for more of the triumvirate in the future.
Dr. Jake Destructo 08-24-2005 05:40 PM

Yeah, someone mentioned it a week ago, but we have no new news on it. Sorry to disapoint. :upset: This would be an amazing collaboration though. I mean, two alternative virtuosos, combining to create who knows what. Throw Adrian Belew in the mix and you probably have the 3 most unique musicians of modern music.

A pig in a cage on antibiotics 08-24-2005 05:48 PM

yeah no doubt about that. Danny's been workin with Les on and off since at least 03' so they must have some good ****!!

Yep, that was me. I found it while browsing the January 2003 newsletter.

I hope someday we get to hear some of that.
tools coming out with a new album, not sure when though
WHAT??

WHERE DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THIS....!!!!1!!eleven!!111!!!!

maggot4875 08-24-2005 08:45 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool_(band)

"Tool is currently working on their fourth full-length album. Tourmates Fantômas and Meshuggah have been cited as recent influences. There have been some rumors about the new release, including possible titles, potential DVD releases, and their respective release dates. Since the members of Tool avoid press and rarely grant interviews, there is little evidence to support these claims. Considering the rumor mill preceding the release of Lateralus in 2001, these reports are not likely to prove true. Still, a CD release is widely expected for the third quarter of 2005."

i find tool mysterious.
usually bands would give updates half a year before the album comes out
i find tool mysterious.

tool is mysterious, but thats the reason i like them. i read a few interviews with adam jones and maynard james keenan and i like their philosphy/their view of the world.
i have no problem that tool don't give interviews. the music is more important. the music speaks for themselves.
What's with Blair's August newsletter? The month is nearly over.
I guess we'll have to wait and see. Don't worry, be happy (the phrase is used a lot less than 'wait it out, be patient').
Details, please.
DOWNLOAD AMPERSAND(song)!!! the cd isnt that great but it is good, there is no showing off of talents, i bought the CD but its not that great, but still buy it, it is called "Side 1".

Side2 is coming out before the next king crimson greatest hits (the 4 cd set which came out last year, they are releasing another 4 cds of )and it will include more technical stuff than this last release :)
sup fellas
i love you, infact im changing my user title to show it :thumb: VVVV

sup fellas

jamesclelland 08-25-2005 01:50 PM

it would be awesome if tool did a tribute to mr. moog. the man changed the course of music back before sabbath, zeppelin, even elvis. so it would awesome to have one song deticated to him, since they does use synths.
