Welcome to the Forums
Stop triple posting, it's a great banning reason. Delete the unnescesary posts please. Read the Rules.
Especially the rules of this thread.
i quite liked Dukes vocals, and i prefer him to Souza.
Same here. Mille... he's good and he's written some killer thrash, but now him and Kreator have really lost sight of their roots. I think his vocals are awesome too by the way. |
Metallica=massively overated
Yeah they are. They never used to be when I was in school. |
Metallica=massively overated
But still damn good. |
. . .Eh~ they got kind of old for me and i never really listen to them anymore.
|
But still damn good.
Yeah, I still play all their songs, pre-Black Album, every once and a while. It's good Drinking/Jamming music \m/ |
Not really at all. When you look at every other thrash band... ever, they're poor at best. And their post Black album stuff just sucks.
|

I said Pre-Black Album, the records before it. |
Not really at all. When you look at every other thrash band... ever, they're poor at best. And their post Black album stuff just sucks.
exactly, like a thrash band they aren't that good, but as an overall band they are very good. |
They are way to commercialized.
|
They are way to commercialized.
That doesn't affect AJFA, MOP, KEA, RTL. Sadly it affected post Black. |
I said Pre-Black Album, the records before it.
I wasn't referring to your post.
exactly, like a thrash band they aren't that good, but as an overall band they are very good.
No, because you're wasting your time listening to them while you could be listening to the 666 billion better bands. |
Yeah, but I actually like some of the load stuff.
~Im ashamed of myself, must go cry :upset: |
I wasn't referring to your post.
No, because you're wasting your time listening to them while you could be listening to the 666 billion better bands.
but then, there's also like 666 trillion bands worst, so it isn't wasting time. saying that one band is the best is wrong, there's always someone better. /it seems contradictory, but if you read some books, look philosopher's comments and study the science of communication, they are two different concepts....but it still look contradictory  |
I wasn't referring to your post.
No, because you're wasting your time listening to them while you could be listening to the 666 billion better bands.
My bad. Yeah I did overdose on them. I moved on, yet still listen to the older material every once and a while. Only when I drink and play though. |
U play guitar?
|
Baloff > Zetro > Dukes
|
U play guitar?
Yes. Almost 14 years. |
but then, there's also like 666 trillion bands worst, so it isn't wasting time.
Yes, it is. That's like saying its a good idea to play mediocre video games. Sure, there's worse, but there's much, much better. |

But metallica isn't mediocre, they are good. I find a little weird that you are saying those kind of things, you listen a lot to thrash and Megadeth, it's like saying you are also wasting your time because there's way better music than that. You can't never waste your time doing something you like. NOTE: I'm not saying that thrash is bad, but if we compare it with Classical, it will lose, In many aspects. |
Can I join the clan?
|
Can I join the clan?
Of course, just read and respect the thread rules. And of course, love Thrash. |

Thrash and classical accomplish such different things musically, there's no point. This isn't really a clan anymore bro, we just chill and talk about thrash and other stuff. |
Don't compare genres, it just doesn't work. Thrash and classical accomplish such different things musically, there's no point.
It works for musicians like C. Burton and M. Friedman. So as you say, comparing genres is pointless, but in the end is all music. And: Videogames have different genres also. :p Relevance of the comment= .5 |
What's some good Anthrax? I want to hear some of their stuff but don't know where to start. I want to download some songs before buying anything.

And justice for all is their best song. |

I agree. You hear bootlegs, see live tapes and realise that as they got older they achieved a level of professionalism unmatched by, really, any other metal bands. Then they tried playing a brand of hard rock they never really carved out properly. See how good the new songs on "Garage Inc" are and you realise that this is a band that needed a new songwriter circa 1991. |
My bad. Yeah I did overdose on them. I moved on, yet still listen to the older material every once and a while. Only when I drink and play though.
I think ive listened to RTL and MoP so many times I can play them in my head. I also go on the record earlier in the thread as saying there were only a dozen or so really worthy Metallica songs. I stand by that, but all their albums have something to offer at different times of day. I don't tend to listen to them much anymore, because I know if I'm ever stranded at someone's house and need a fix of metal, they'll have Metallica :). |
Dude, you didn't have to post three times!
I haven't listened to more than one Metallica song in a row for a long time. Although the second half of Leper Messiah is great, regardless of whether Mustaine wrote it or not. |
