Man...

nevermind.
No, talk bitch

:p
How about from trying to write and record two completely different albums simultaneously within a less-than-ideal studio environment?
They do that in every album, really. The thing is they went overboard with this one and made almost double the effort on each half.

Nonetheless the bad recording thing is true, so hail the masterz.
Might I suggest Deliverance and Morningrise as your next purchases.
Yeah thanks. I'd heard that Deliverance is really good.
And to the guy who told me to get a refund on GR, no thanks. I happen to like it a lot.

It's just Still Life is that much better. And that was only if you were low in CD money. :p

132WalrusesInMexico 09-13-2006 09:17 PM

Okay, I can deal with that. Actually, I have no money :( but I don't want to get a refund on GR. I'll just wait until payday. Should I get Deliverance or Still Life first?

Darkness 09-13-2006 09:21 PM

I'd actually say Still Life. But depends what you want. Deliverance is mostly a heavy album, with one soft song and one soft interlude type thing (like Patterns in the Ivy). Still Life has the perfect balance of acoustic passages and heavy riffing.

Kage 09-13-2006 09:22 PM

Still Life is essential, get that. Deliverance is...

Eliminator 09-13-2006 09:25 PM

Boring.

132WalrusesInMexico 09-13-2006 09:27 PM

Alrighty, Still Life is shall be. Thanks for your help.

Darkness 09-13-2006 09:29 PM
Boring.
I'm thinking more like... Heavy/brutal.

i am the robots 09-13-2006 09:42 PM

Deliverance is so far from brutal .

Blood Red Throne is brutal. Animosity is brutal. Iniquity is brutal. Opeth is not.

Opeth is like, atmospheric as all hell though, Deliverance is just heavy by Opeth's standards.

Darkness 09-13-2006 09:45 PM

Whatever...

Kage 09-13-2006 09:47 PM
Whatever...
Yeah, pretty much.

i am the robots 09-13-2006 10:48 PM

It's just retarded to call Opeth brutal.

pate 09-13-2006 11:30 PM

They can be pretty heavy, just not for very long.
How about from trying to write and record two completely different albums simultaneously within a less-than-ideal studio environment?
Well, the wild sex scene thing sounds more fitting tbh.

Det_Nosnip 09-14-2006 03:02 AM

So THAT's why Martin left.

Epicurus 09-14-2006 05:19 AM

I sleep to Damnation alot. Very soothing.

C.O.A. 09-14-2006 05:37 AM

Lol, so do I.

My buddy said i was crazy for trying to sleep while listening to music the other day. I started to think I was the only one lol.

TojesDolan 09-14-2006 10:18 AM

I find Morningrise and Still Life more soothing for sleep.

Yeah.

Stoo 09-14-2006 10:21 AM

To Bid You Farewell is great for sleeping. More so at the beginning as it moves slowly.

Daven 09-14-2006 10:23 AM

Agreed. TBYF is very good for slpeeing, as well as Windowpane.

pate 09-14-2006 10:38 AM

Windowpane was written for sleeping. It had to have been; it is just so perfect for sleeping.

TojesDolan 09-14-2006 10:44 AM

"A fair judgement" ends in narcolepsy better.

Thor 09-14-2006 07:05 PM

Couldn't agree more with that statement. I put that song on my "sleep" playlist on my iPod multiple times so I can enjoy it while dreaming. :)

I wish they'd quit touring already and get to making a new album.

I found this interesting. haha

pate 09-14-2006 11:28 PM

Hahaha. That is so awesome.

I disagree. :)

*Is seeing Opeth next week*

Dr. Jake Destructo 09-15-2006 12:23 AM

Did Opeth skip the Northwest, or what?

pate 09-15-2006 12:25 AM
I disagree. :)

Hey, I'll be there too!

Det_Nosnip 09-15-2006 12:27 AM

****, yeah man! :chug:

pate 09-15-2006 12:28 AM

I'm doing the Chicago Gigantour on Friday, then Celtic Frost/1349/Sahg on Saturday.

Metal Weekend FTW

Futuro 09-15-2006 12:52 AM

Gigantour is gonna be a few minutes away from me. But the only band I like at gigantour is Opeth ;(

Det_Nosnip 09-15-2006 12:57 AM

Arch Enemy are pretty awesome, and Into Eternity are cool.

Aah, yeah.....I forgot about that one. Kamelot+Epica are on the 30th. I might also see Tower of Power on the 24th.

I never fancied you a Tower Of Power fan, Ted. Suprising...:p

Opeth in 15 days. I don't think they should release a new album...KEEP ON TOURING!

lightningmetal666 09-15-2006 04:20 PM

I found a vid. on myspace of Opeth giving a guitar lesson on how to play The Drapery falls (my fav opeth song :) ).

Just type in a search under myspace videos for Opeth guitar lesson and you'll find it.

TojesDolan 09-15-2006 05:18 PM

It's also on youtube.

I find it funny when he plays the first chord of the third riff (intro to the first verse) and they ask him what chord is it, and Mike answers "I don't know, it just sounded cool".

Yeah, and I also thought it was cool when he said "I, er we, hate predictable ****." nice.

ironmanx 09-15-2006 06:00 PM

I love Mikeals humor.

Metallicasucksass42: How do you feel when people come upto you and tell you your music is the most perfect and beutiful thing they ever heard?
Mikael: What can I say, it's better than when they say I ****ing suck.

Evolution169: Mikeal, would you jam with me if I started a band and became famous? If so, I think I will start a band.
Mikael: Only if you're famous. I don't wanna surround myself with non-famous people you know...
