Good luck faith

Janeway 11-04-2005 08:07 PM

Yay.
I went and ordered my class ring.
It's yellow gold with a round stone and laurel leaves surrounding that and my school crest in the middle with the coolest bright orange stone ever.
I'll get it in early December.
Yeeha.

Good News!

My Maryland kit is officially in my drum teacher/dealer's office and ready for pick up! However, he is out of town and seeing that it arrived while he was gone I am going to wait to pick it up until he gets back next week. The reason for this being that he helped me out so much during the process (getting me a good deal, checking up on it for me, etc) that I want him to see it and hear it before I take it home... It kinda sucks... but I've waited long enough that another week won't hurt; Will it?

Brokensticks 11-04-2005 09:16 PM

Get it now

Edit - Good Luck Faith.

Undisco Kidd 11-04-2005 09:20 PM

:[ musiciansfriend went back to free shipping on orders over 100.

which means im going to have to wait a month to get my wuhan splash and a cymbal stacker (birthday and xmas on the 18 and 25, gonna get a bunch of stuff :] )

putting a splash ontop of a ride > spending 30 bucks on an arm and having all of that extra hardware just so you can get to it a little bit quicker.

*emocry*

Janeway 11-04-2005 09:44 PM

Oh god.
I have to take a crap so bad, but both bathrooms are taken.
Oh my god.
Ouch.
It's like my bowels are imploding.
God. Make it stop.

boss 11-04-2005 09:46 PM

just let out a little fart to ease the pressure

Janeway 11-04-2005 09:48 PM

Yeah, right.
I don't think I want to take the chance of permanently blowing a hole in my chair and the seat of my PJ's.
UGH.
God. This is so uncomfortable.
HEY ALL!
I'm Jake, I'm 18, and I've been into music performance for nearly 4 years. I've been playing guitar for about 5 years, drums for a little over a year, and bass and piano off and on. I also sing, I've been recording a lot of solo stuff, once I have all my new studio equipment in, I'll record and post some of my material. I've been running on music since I was a "wee lad". I'm going to college soon and getting something like, "Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance" or something drum/percussion related. I love to work on mechanical things (engines, cars, amps, electronics). As of now, I have 2 side projects (2 bands) that are starting to take shape. Right now, my solo stuff is priority. I just love music.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
WElcome, its always good to get a n00bie here, I was one of the last n00bies, so I cant say much about it haha, sounds like you are quite talented, hope to hear more from you

Double Bass Jim 11-04-2005 10:08 PM

someone's on the 'e' again.

 it happens to me when i get new stuff too. when i got my new guitar, i'd always have it on my lap, regardless of whether i was playing or not. i'd be watching tv, then a commercial would come on. i'd go grab my guitar, go back to the couch, and continue watching tv with my guitar on my lap.

Plan B. 11-04-2005 10:31 PM

It only happens when it's to late to play them.

I'm really attached to my drumset.

well i'm heading off to bed. yes, 9:35 on a friday night. woo hoo.

all my friends are busy, and they're busy the whole weekend. half of them are leaving, the other half are working. looks like it's a weekend for drumming. i'm going to be working alot on my independance, a few hours a day should do me good.

anyways, i'm going to go read in bed. everyone have a fun night.

Futuro 11-04-2005 10:37 PM

Just got back. Im tired as hell. We played for a little over an hour, maybe close to hour and a half. We played all 11 of our songs, with minor complications. There is a section of 9/8 that I played 4/4 through cause I couldnt remember the bass drum pattern (Brain Fart  ) It actually came out really cool sounding with the poly-instrumentation.

We had made posters and flyers for the show. They had our band name (Locust Grove) With a photoshpped picture of a....well a group of Locust in a grove.

We had near 100 people there. (Which is alot considering the mostly black and hispanic population in Tampa)

Best part is we got asked to come back next friday

Plan B. 11-04-2005 10:40 PM

We still need a real vocalist though :-/ It kinda detracts from the song when our guitar player has a nasly 2 octave range  He tries haha
