ooh they get guitar players? I hear that's contagious... I'll stay out of Canada for a while :amaze:

and sorry I0, but I can't listen to some guy whine into a microphone for more than about 30 seconds before I want to beat my speakers with a hammer :smash:
I can only take so much emo...the only bands I listen to that are really "emo" are Dashboard and Bright Eyes. Cursive definitely isn't emo ("Get on that cross, that's all you're good for." Cursive's music is anything but depressing, it's enthralling).

Not disagreeing with your opinion, just stating my case. I don't blame you, I can't listen to Dashboard for too long or else the emoglands in my body pump excessive estrogin into my blood stream and I grow a vagina :amaze:

Foxfire 10-14-2004 09:24 PM

Emo-tional

Like music where the people are sad; lots of people tend to make fun of it.

Famous MTV emo: Yellowcard, Blink, etc.
I may sound ignorant, and I am, so what the fukk. What the hell is EMO??
overly emotional soft rock, in the most simplified form...
but it's generally pop-punk with a vocalist that whines more than sings.

Deathw1sh 10-14-2004 09:27 PM

blink just started getting emo a tiny bit on toypaj, and then kinda fell into it with the latest album... at first they were just pop punk

some emo bands are like... yellowcard, dashboard confessional, taking back sunday, american hi-fi

hoobastank is headed that way too.. :upset:

Good pop-punk: Lucky Boys Confusion.

Deathw1sh 10-14-2004 09:39 PM

/me posts.

I spent alot of time trying to make a Guitar Pro file of Slipknot's Vermilion the other day. I think I did pretty good, but the solo kind of sucks...

I don't know if any of you have heard it, or even dabble in guitar enough to have tried it, but see what you think about my tab of it...

/me edits to try and fix it

DAMMIT IT WON'T WORK

Espbassor 10-14-2004 11:21 PM

^JoZ if you feel like sending it through email, my email is Espbassor@yahoo.com and I'd be more then willing to check it out in the morning when I wake up. :thumb:

Is real emo any good?

Mitchell Royce 10-15-2004 06:46 AM

Depends on your tastes.
Bright Eyes can have his moments for me(well, more like one song), but you need to find out for yourself. The only band I like that gets lumped in that terribly named unspecified genre is Jimy Eat World. Anyone can like emo, I used to hang out with a group of hardcore metalhead stoners, for some reason they really started liking emo within a month. Went directly from slayer fans to Saves the Day fans in about two weeks. I'd question their taste, but meh.

gaslight 10-15-2004 06:48 AM

It just depends on what you're into really, I think some of it has nice guitar work.

"Woolworm" - Indian Summer
"Asking Angel" - Indian Summer
"Millimetre" - Indian Summer

"Back To Mimsey" - Native Nod
"High Tide In Alaska" - Native Nod

"Gravity" - Moss Icon
"Moth" - Moss Icon
"Guatemala" - Moss Icon

Soulseek has all that, just see what you think.

risbo 10-15-2004 06:52 AM

I'm on it.

popinfresh 10-15-2004 07:03 AM

Fuk Yeah!

We one the talent quest all out. It fkn went off, I had a full dog costume which was wicked. It was a bitch to see out of, but fun all the same. The hall had over 500 people in it, it was packed, big atmosphere. We got a lot of groupies now :p and we're re-recording and making t-shirts and sh!t. I heard we might be able to open for the tall poppies (Aussies probably would of heard of them) and yeah.. it was wicked.

gaslight 10-15-2004 07:05 AM

Dog costume?

What did you guys play?

Awesome man.

popinfresh 10-15-2004 07:12 AM
Dog costume?

Played originals all the way through (3 rounds) which is good that we won on those, means people like them.

And yeah, dog costume.. I got a pic of it.. hang on a few mins. It was wicked, boiling as though

Jim Hull 10-15-2004 08:37 AM

Why'd you wear the dog costume and did anyone else in your band dress up?

Accentopus 10-15-2004 08:44 AM

Afternoon all.
Jesus, today, the headteacher giving us a lecture on how he made love to his wife. Not pleasant, but extremely funny
