metallica is good except for lars i don't think anyone could be less creative with a drum kit than him. i almost feel as tired as he does when i listen to his drumming. and recently... what the hell is St Anger? screw that! metallica just turned into a crappy korn... and korn is something i find in my poop quite often!

New Metallica = Sucks

Oh by the way my fav Metallica song is For Whom the Bell Tolls
no m8, u dont cum in ere n call lars uncreative n get away with it. . . .
lars is a great drummer and the farther of metallica. he is a great drummers with maky things goin 4 him, if he was **** they would hav cut him years ago as they did to mustain. lars is a creative as the next man. he is better than everyone gives him credit, he doesnt play exorbent drum fills at undecessary times or fance licks when not needed he knows how to play man . . . . alot better than mort drummers out there 2 day, are you better than him no i font think so, so lay off. were as you may love ur mainstream crap every1 else here loves metallica so if u wanna talk ere dont bag the father of metallica. . . . .
No mate, you don't come in here and call Lars uncreative and get away with it!
Lars is a great drummer, in my opinion, and one of the fathers of Metallica. He is a mediocre drummer with a few things going for him. If he was shit they would have cut him years ago, except that he is one of the fathers of the band, as they did to Mustaine. Lars isn't as creative as the next man. He is better than some people give him credit for, and worse than others give him credit for. He doesn't play exuberant drum fills at unecessary times, or indeed at all, or fancy licks when they're not needed. He knows how to play, man . . . . alot better than most drummers out there today, though clearly I am lying. Are you better than him? No I didn't think so(though I didn't even give you time to answer, or have any proof), so lay off him. You may love your mainstream crap everyone else here loves Metallica, so if you wanna talk here don't bag one of the fathers of Metallica. . . . .
No wonder Metallica fans have such a bad rap with people like you around. I'm part of everyone else here and I don't love Metallica, I like them, but that's as far as it goes. I'm still entitled to be here. Christ I can't believe someones got such bad grammar, unless you're like 9 years old.

Does this guy seriously believe they cut Mustaine because he wasn't good enough, and that Lars is the father of Metallica?

 Jesus, I laughed so hard after reading that.
And by the way, Mustaine is a ****ing amazing guitarist, they cut him because he had a drug problem, not because he was lacking any technical skill, and by the way, we've all pretty much agreed that Lars is one of the suckiest drummers around.

still, u get his point though dont u? lars composes alot of their kick a'ss songs as well. he is the founder. dont b picky

IAJP 03-22-2005 09:31 AM

Oh no doubt, don't get me wrong, I can't imagine ANY drummer drumming on The Thing That Should Not Be, or many other Metallica songs with as much power as Lars.
I still don't rate him highly as a drummer really though, if you put a piece of music in front of him and a few more famous drummers, I don't think he'd come out on top.
If you understand?

I don't think Lars actually composes the songs. He just writes the drum parts and helps with the arrangements.

IAJP 03-22-2005 09:34 AM

I heard he wrote (Like lyrics and tune) quite a few of the songs on Kill 'Em All,
is that true?

who cares bout mustaine, go 2 a megadeth thread 2 talk bout him. and yes, lars is the founder of metallica. lars deserves more credit from u guys. he does his job perfectly. i agree with what larsrocks said bout dissin lars, no fan of metallica does that. metallica is 4 musicians in a band, not 3 musicians and a cra'p drummer, which is wot some people are implying.

Founding members and songwriting credits aside, you SURELY don't think Lar's drumming is of high technical excellence?

yea sure but as i say, lars is more than tallicas drummer. he helps make songs in some way or another... composition and some lyrics. but most of all he is the founder, and he created much of the ingenious style of music in the early albums

Only fanboys imply that the band couldn't be better.
Fans can quite easily appreciate the band, but can also point out the bad features of it as well.

na, he definately jointly composes many songs and usually songs are written either by all of them or by ullrich and hetfield

no i admit hes middle skill, but i jus hate when people judje him for only his drumming, when he does much more that he shud b respected 4.

yeah! i know. i Know that lars is not an incredible drummer, but 2 b quite honest, he doesnt need 2 b. an i said people imply that lars is the shame of the band(which is what im getting at), not that the band coodnt b better

But yeah, seriously, this isn't AIM or some chat room. You have time to actually sit down and type coherent responses. You'll have a hell of a time being taken seriously if you don't start spelling things out correctly.

I can't tell what he's trying to say, grammar and spelling seem to be absent completely.
