ALERT! MAJOR DIGGAGE!
Evangelicals - So Gone Get this. Now. What Pitchfork says. |
I like Judas Priest better than Iron Maiden.
Painkiller > 99% of other metal songs of all time.
I'm a bassist so I'm naturally drawn to Maiden. What can I say, Steve Harris is a god v:)v |
Mekons - Fear And Whiskey
This is good stuff. I don't know who recommended it, but thanks a lot. |
Off Minor.
That's all that needs to be said. |
i've been digging a few songs by Saturday Looks Good to Me.
are their CD's worth investing in? |
Not really.
Underwater Heartbeat is a catchy number though. |
How did Grandaddy get lumped in there? :angry emote:
|
I've been listening to:
Muse - Black Holes And Revelations Sufjan Stevens - The Avalanche Nickel Creek - Why Should the Fire Die? and what I've been into the most: Low Flying Owls - Elixir Vitae |
I hate really sugary indie pop (SLGTM, Mates of State, Grandaddy, Fiery Furnaces, Beulah, etc.). Oh man I can't stand it.
Hence your distaste for the last few Flaming Lips albums? Man I wish that guitarist didn't disappear :( |
I hate really sugary indie pop (SLGTM, Mates of State, Grandaddy, Fiery Furnaces, Beulah, etc.). Oh man I can't stand it.
I'd say that the Fiery Furnaces experimentation brings them above your typical sugary indie pop. Today: The Police - Synchronicity |
Tuxedomoon. A new wave band that deserves so much more credit than they get. So great. It's a shame how few people actually know them.
|
the early november - the mother, the mechanic and the path
converge - you fail me |
www.myspace.com/dimmerband (ooooh yes.)
Dude I just watched the Live At Pompeii DVD last night, and it was the coolest thing I've ever seen. It's post-Syd, but it's pre-Dark Side. Check it out.
I'm not a huge Floyd fan by anyones standards, but Live at Pompeii is possibly the best live performance I've ever seen. Can you imagine being one those roadies. Just hanging out, ruins of Pompeii, private show by the Floyd - shit. "I like to think oysters transcend national barriers" |
Scratch Acid - The Greatest Gift
The Replacements - All Shook Down |
The World/Inferno Friendship Society - Red Eyed Soul
|
Boris - Pink
hellll yea |
I downloaded a bunch of jazz albums from the past year, because the Downbeat Critic's Poll issue came in the mail. So far, Overtime by the Dave Holland Big Band is a miss. Too bombastic.
I also got Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben, and I don't like that, either. Man, music sucks. |
Roxy Music - Avalon
Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives and now I'm off to start watching the second season of Deadwood... |
Digging a bunch of psychedelic pop songs. Right now, listening to some stuff by White Noise, a weird little early electronic band.
|
Roxy Music - Avalon
Prefuse 73 - Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives and now I'm off to start watching the second season of Deadwood...
i just finished the first season tonight. it started slow but it was pretty enjoyable once i started getting into it. |
Man, "Pickpocket" is like the best ATDI song ever, so damn catchy. Plus it has nonsense lyrics like "breakfast table search team implodes." what
|
Africa Brasil is crazy good.
Exactly! I got it today and its a really nice album. |
my favorite is transatlantic foe
|
i just finished the first season tonight.
it started slow but it was pretty enjoyable once i started getting into it.
Definitely. Without Swearengen though, the show would feel so lost. He really pulls everything together for me and makes it all worthwhile. |
jurassic 5 - feedback
ariel pink's haunted graffiti - worn copy (this is really creative, it kinda makes me sick because of all the filters but it's like a 70s blaxploitation film in song form. cool.) |
I'd say that the Fiery Furnaces experimentation brings them above your typical sugary indie pop.
More like below.
|
Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters
funky as ****. |
More like below.

Digging a bunch of psychedelic pop songs. Right now, listening to some stuff by White Noise, a weird little early electronic band.
I've had An Electric Storm in my hammerspace Amazon basket for months now. Whenever it comes down to actually ordering, it always gets kicked aside for something else. Is it worth the time? |
I brought out the old Caifanes CDs.
|
Fripp & Eno - No Pussyfooting
|
Café Tacuba - Re
|
Fugazi - Repeater
